When I look in the mirror
I see worn down eyes,
forgotten hopes,
and shattered dreams
I look at those who love me and those I love
and there is nothing but empty shells I have carved out
I see forgotten hopes
so at one point, I must have made the mistake of hoping
I see shattered dreams
So I must have known how to dream
But now those are gone
I am alone and cold
They say they could love me
but the key word is could
They 'could' love anyone
I am not special
Nor am I unique
When I look in the mirror
there is only failure
