How to be intertwined with a body
A body that was not yours to start
But has somehow become a beacon of home
Lingering touches leave trace marks, pathways, to find a way back if ever separated or lost
By crowds, or grocery store isles, or time
The way back always comes with anticipation of that wholeness being restored
The reuniting of lost pieces and parts that melt back into place like they've always known their place was here
Here with this body you didn't know before but can't imagine ever not knowing it
The curves and edges, the rough patches and nooks
There was no before them and this body
There will only be after
