calm down
Elyssa Rae Apr 2014
The anxiety,
The fear gripping everywhere,
The labored breathing,
Can't shut it off.
It doesn't want to go away.
Deep Breaths..
100...97...94...91...88...
It's coming back.
What if I'm not good enough?
Not fast enough,
85...82...79...76...73...
Not going to win,
Get a's,
70...67...64...61...58...
Don't mess up,
Be good,
55...52...49...46...43
Don't fall below a B,
go away, go away, go away.
40..37..34..31..28..25..22..19..16..13..10..
Don't worry you'll be fine,
Don't listen to those voices in your head.
Be happy don't listen,
Block it out,
Turn up your music,
Run.
Deep breaths..
7......4......1......
Good,
It's gone.

Remember When
Elyssa Rae Jul 2013
Remember when....
You held my hand tight?
When you promised you would never let go?
When you told me you loved me?
I remember that.
It was when I was *happy
.
  When you held me close.
When you called me every night.
        When everything was alright.
Oh, so you don't remember?
Saying it was you and me against the world.
       Wishing your parents didn't care.
Hoping society didn't look down upon me being mixed.
It was simple.
   It was easy.
      It was normal.
It was the beginning of something great.
You turned your back.
      And walked away.
            By cheating.
               And lying.
It should have been better than that.
  But it wasn't.
And now you can't have me back.
          It's too late now.
             And I'm never coming back.
**Do you remember now?

Daddy Don't Leave....Please
Elyssa Rae Aug 2013
Can you help me?
Daddy left last night.
Mommy says he died.
She was crying in the middle of the night.
Woke both my brother and I up.
Can you help me?
I ran to wake the next door neighbors.
In my pajamas.
Why didn't anybody answer?
Nobody came to the doors.
Is anybody there?
The shrieking of the sirens is coming closer.
"Mommy? Why Isn't Daddy waking up?"
There's no answer.
The sirens are getting louder.
Waking the sleeping neighbors up.
Heart pounding, blood rushing.
Can't.
Move.
Nobody's listening.

Daddy is still lying on the bed.

Not moving.

Somebody help!
                                                                                                                                   *......please

                                                                    Daddy wake up!
Don't leave us...

                                  *......please Daddy

Me? Too young to say no.

12 AM.
Elyssa Rae May 2014
I heard the loud clap of thunder and saw the flash of lightening.
The sky opened up and the windows shook.
You took my breath away, then left me gasping for air.
You held me close, but yet kept me at arms length.
I want to tell you my secrets from deep within.
But once I blink my eyes will you be gone?
It will be like the silence after a storm.
My breath will not return.

You're named after an angel.
And I truly think you are.
You saved me that April day,
And then I began to fall.
I knew it was too fast,
I knew it was too soon.
But you gave me things,
That nobody has given me before.
You turned my life
Right-side up.
Made me a better person.
I'm sorry if I still make mistakes,
But I'm still getting used
To having you.

Rainy Days
Elyssa Rae Aug 2013
On the rainy days,
     I sit and think.
About all the things going on.

And I sit and think more and more.

Till I can't go on.
Like how red and blue make purple.
How two people interact with each other.
And how much I miss having a boyfriend!

And then I sit and wonder.

About all the people in the world.
How they're all going on about their lives.
            How I'm just sitting here.

Then I think,
"I'm going to make a difference."
"I'm going to stop just sitting around here!"

And you know what I do?
*I go sing and dance in the rain.

Lost
Elyssa Rae Jul 2013
Are you lost at sea?
Lost within yourself?
Lost in general?
I knew a girl who was lost.
She woke up every morning with a smile on her face.
To show that she was okay.
She never said anything bad.
She didn't do drugs or alcohol.
She was kind to everyone.
Then one day.
She disappeared.
No one knew where.
She was lost.
Everyone knew of her and about her.
Time went by.
Everyone forgot.
She became one of the unknown.
All because nobody helped her find her way.

Late night musings
Elyssa Rae May 2014
It's almost one, and these thoughts won't go.
The shadows dance along the walls.
The fan shakes, it goes so fast.
It's dark outside, what happens next?
Talking to the boy I like,
Makes me feel so special.
Our time is short, it's dwindling down faster.
3 more months, then I'm gone.
I fell to fast and fell to hard.
Whatever happened to faking it till I made it?

Too Many Things
Elyssa Rae Jul 2013
There's too many things.
Too many bright ideas.
Too many answers.
There's too much.
A girl lives inside her head.
Thinking of all these things.
Wondering what her purpose is.
Her mind spins and spins.
Round and round.
It's all processing to fast.
She's fifteen.
Knows too much and and can't stop it.
She's seen it all.
Her mind revolves around this thing.
People call her crazy.
They call her names.
If only they've known too much.
Just like her.
                                                                                                                               To soon.
