i envy the people
that have never experienced
pain or
disappointment,
they know not what the world holds.
i envy the people
that have never held
their mother
as she feared for her child’s life.
i envy the people
that have never looked
at someone
and only seeing pain.
i have longed for
is simply
the ability
to reverse time,
to where i never
experienced pain,
listen to my mothers cries,
ever looked at his face.
i envy
your ability
to forget
as though
i never
even
existed.

For as long as I can recall
You have been there,
But never alone.

The smell of your cheap perfume,
Trying to cover that smell-
The smell of tobacco

Surrounded in a smokey grey whisp,
Coming for this small stick
that holds your life in its hand.

You never caring what you put in your body,
Relying on the fact that you will come back,
Relying on the science you never believed in.

The advice of Doctors,
The ones you ignored.
It was that friends of yours fault.

They took your voice,
The one of reason;
Of sound mind.

Yelling matches filled the air,
You screaming at me all I did wrong.
They overtook your emotions,

Your sanity, gone.
The day you realize
That your 'friend'
Isn't your friend,
Is the day that
Hell freezes over
Or pigs learn to fly.

I fear when that day comes
You and your friend will have become one,
Both ashes
In a ceramic capsule,
Oh the times
The times we tried
To separate you
And that friend of yours.

When will you learn
To stop hanging around
That friend of yours?
