You're the sensation
First love unrequited
Although some affection is returned
Leaving this sensation in my chest
Being lifted and sinking back down
Caught in this gravity
Man made gravity as I've been told

As I walk down the path to the fulfillment
It becomes more twisted and turns black as obsidian
Being haunted by my lack of past and by your--
Yours

As I spiral down
Realizing that this is inevitable
I shield myself, but the atmosphere prevails

You've got me
May not be as you want me
But you've got me

I Hope
Now* I know
Choosing you was a step to growing up

You with your chocolate brown hair
Matching your deep, full, ambitious eyes

You with your Native American hair
The purple haze around your listless dark eyes

Even though one may seem better than the other
The truth is, he's not

The one that matches me *best

Listless, but only when you stare

When you stare at me, even if
I know it has something

Or at least I hope so...

The way I was born.
I can't help feeling like this
It was the way I was born

I can't help disagreeing with you
It was the way I was born

I can't help my nature
It was the way I was born

I can't help my feelings
It was the way I was born

I can't help not being able to help
Once again, it was the way I have not been completely born

Trust was the question
Yes was my answer
Now I pay
I dance like a puppet in my own mind
Fully knowing I've got strings **I don't control

Knowing Myself
Granted this name
I wear it proudly on my sleeve
Finding out what exactly it means to be me

May be a little diffident
At a moment, shy and timid
At others, loud and obnoxious
Understanding that you may not understand me

Applying that to my gifts
Working with my hands
Even the smallest doodle
Can be the greatest **creation
