A Gentleman
Charlotte Apr 2014
Men are like wolves.
When you smile, they get wild
but a gentleman
is simply
a patient wolf

Satellite
Charlotte Mar 2014
I am a lost satellite
in Space.
Marginalised from Earth
dancing amongst the stars
the moon
the universe.

Sailing

across the sky
the Milky Way
awaiting my destiny
dancing with fate
flirting with coincidence
hoping that one day,
I will be found.

Magnets
Charlotte Mar 2014
Every time I see you
electricity rushes through my veins
when your hand brushes against mine
by accident.
Whenever we touch
we can both feel the connection
it’s visible
in a crowded room
because you’re the only one I see.
In a cheek to cheek hug
the heat of your skin burns against mine
you touch my arm
and set my mind on fire.
I want to turn it off
but I can’t.
I think we both do.
Undeniable chemistry.
Words unsaid.
You’re my temptation
my pull
my magnetic force

God is an author
the best
and I thank him
every day
for adding a chapter of your life
to mine

Starry Night
Charlotte Mar 2014
I gaze at the night sky
to watch the planets glow

and I miss you my dear,
more than you’ll ever know.

I’m afraid that if
a psychic were to read
your palm,
they would not
see me in your future,

but would rather
feel me in the creases of your
past.

A Suicide Note
Charlotte Mar 2014
I am an Angel that wants to go home
to Heaven.
But God is not letting me in.
My light has stopped shining, my glow has gone. I’ve damaged my skin.

Gabriel doesn’t approve.

I am an Angel waiting at heaven’s gates
I want to come home early from my mission. I’ve been engulfed in a consumption of darkness and sin.
I want to go home.
- I know this is a bit morbid for a first poem but I promise they won't all revolve around stuff like this.
