Enigma
Egbeyale Oladapo Dec 2013
Ten seasons, ten kings
words prison, more learning

young, intrepid, and restless
new, dreamy, yet priceless
old, skeptic, soggy

As the peach's saga,
different under diverse skies

Human lives in a reason,
Ten kings, ten seasons.

Taming the Shrewd
Egbeyale Oladapo Dec 2013
My heart, a wondering donkey
wild donkey, breaking into neighbor's fields
it brays, hungers for yet unseen

This, please be still
How do I put you on leash?
Food for you be increased a must,
tight ropes for your mouth by force

My heart, a raging flood
flowing flood, which calls for channeling
Blame not my donkey at all,
Nature's stallion needs taming.

Old Age
Egbeyale Oladapo Jan 2014
The beauty shall cease to woo,
As the strength fades as hues

This is a saying, so true
Not some gimmick out of the blues

Winding stairs, so long
Bones again, not strong

Black hair to soft turns grey
White teeth to gums, give way

Youth bloom, soon breaks
And no man to say nay,

It is called, Old age.
