Experients
Drifton A Way Mar 2013
If you don't ever try
You might never live
Worst you can do is die
Blessed with death to give

Words contrived to fruition
Climb upon my shoulders
Take a look at new ambition
Papers finally free from folders

Thoughts magically transformed to verse
Imagery and idolatry bleed ink to prose
Detracting my distraction is another curse
Explanations obscured as frustration grows

King of the world today, ever so omnipotent
Afflicting Memories distance away and fade
Wake up tomorrow and could be impotent
Clutched to a beautiful creature in the shade

Quality is all relative, just try and keep it simple
They all see a beauty mark but I just see a pimple

Sleep...less
Drifton A Way Mar 2013
Tomorrow will be different I predictably once again mutter
Wake up feeling brand new and rid my life of all the clutter
Familiar friend snooze shows up again and closes the shutter
Each vibrant night so filled with life then awaken in the gutter

Lunchtime sleeps in again just woke to a say good afternoon
Sneaky evening sweeps in again, happy hour came too soon
Priorities drank to a crooked ***** now found a mate to spoon
Tomorrow's excuses are tonight's mistakes, I blame the full moon

What better day then tomorrow I say, to start to stop to procrastinate
Appropriately bleak is the morning when the sleep I seek is tasty bait
A vicious deprived morning guy curses the night guy"s life with hate
He replies to his morning eyes, sleep when we"re dead, but it's too late

A veil blankets the city with tranquility as the hours seep rapidly into the deep night
Each passing minute jealous of the last for being too fast and now it's all about spite
If sleep was just wrong, then you could write a song, about finally wanting to be right
Reminded again, right on time as I'm finally tired at the first sight of the morning light

Flaw...less
Drifton A Way Feb 2013
Is it infatuation combined with the new lovely scent
With saturation would the hail begin to make a dent
The flirtation fades with each and every hour spent
The deflation sets in on our slow inevitable descent
The stagnation creeps up like another month's rent
As temptation calls out wondering where you went
A Castration can't compare to this type of torment
No frustration in the world like time"s resentment

If you could only flaw less in your never ending search
Go back to the drawing board or maybe even try church

History repeats itself, feelings of heartbroken violence
As you lay next to me breathing a beautiful soft silence

She"ll never truly be free, never let down her guard
Ironically we can never be, both emotionally scarred

Shared memories framed by another fleeting exposure
Shall never come close to providing adequate closure

No matter how this ends my soul will still need a cast
Smiling big as it mends, for moments lived like our last
Optically delusional to the pastures of greener grass so vast
Finally destined to arrive yet can"t stop longing for the past

Tragically we are meant to be, only if we are actually apart
Insane levels of pain tearing through the veins of my heart

Today we are again away, but our time I shall forever cherish
Tomorrow"s just another day without you until I finally perish

Home...less
Drifton A Way Feb 2013
My encaged still feet begin to grow restless at a pace ever so rapid
My enraged heart squeezes my lungs breathless, a feeling so vapid

Choice is thrown in the trash when you have a need to move like a magnet
Voice and tone cause a splash, as water will concede to avoid being stagnant
Rejoice, grown from the crash, imagination starts to bleed another fragment

Do you know what it's like to never truly know a real home?
Except for when you"re on the road again ever ready to roam?
So many wild oats waiting for their fateful needle to be sewn
Medusas eyes are the only way I'd lay as motionless as a stone

Remind me please with a cleansing sneeze of my allergies
I'm allergic to dying
Bare feet on the gravel, I must travel or my soul will unravel
My existence, is trying
To deprive me of my drive would mean I am no longer alive

One
Turns two
Fun turns blue
After I leave you

Two creates
Words with weights
As one still masterbates
Wasting the potential children's fates

Three"s a crowd
Because egos are proud
Try and test what"s allowed
Cross the line and you"re disavowed

Four doubles the date
And now begins the debate
And it would have been great
Except the translator showed up too late

Five forms a final team
No more need to swim upstream
Finally poetry to boost your self esteem
Then you sadly realize...twas just a dream

Care...less
Drifton A Way Feb 2013
Should I care less or should I care more
Is she a princess or is she a filthy *****
She swears she"s never done this before
As her clothes are spread upon the floor

You need to get your priorities straight and settle on a career
Stare at the wall and sing along as you drink your 98th beer
Continue to stall, it's the same old song again stuck in your ear
Resolutions fall as we all collectively clamor for the next year

Procrastinations penetrate my existence like a freshly sharpened blade
Distractions claim me with persistence as another flight gets delayed
Obligations infiltrate my resistance like an enemy army would invade
Aspirations of rainy day"s assistance to cancel the meaningless parade

Entangled lies leading to this ever complex web that we all weave
What and whys bleeding into the conversational goal to deceive
Wide open eyes shocked into truth on his first real Christmas Eve
Someone dies every .9 seconds yet we still lack the will to believe

Hope...less
Drifton A Way Feb 2013
Expectations slide and diminish as I grow wiser and more superstitious
Presume it's low tide and finish with a wave that's astoundingly vicious

Don"t be fooled by my disguise as I continue to build and prepare for the worst
Every day I rise comes a surprise to my eyes with another heart quenched thirst

Oblivious pessimistic sheople treading in the desert, then they ask me for a drink
Reality cracked their rose colored glasses, now they see my glass teeter on the brink

So try and hope less and enjoy life more
Real optimism prevails from your core

You only want to talk to me when your hopped up on caffeine
And then you come crying with a popped open empty canteen

Relativity reminds us that it could always be worse or better
As technology blinds us to the simple pleasure of a letter

So wear your smiles across your faces like a filthy circus clown
Mine will travel miles and I won't let you all drag me down

Life's easy to waste chasing all the different quantities or amounts
But it´s the quality of taste of what's in your glass that really counts

Rock bottom
Drifton A Way Jan 2013
The skull shattering pressure at the bottom of the deep blue
Shall never dare compare to the despair that I feel losing you

Vivid Memories of you in my head will eternally continue to flow
Even long after we are both dead, the wind will still start to blow
And while you are still ahead, I'll wonder if its you, but never know
The bittersweet curse instead to live as the suffering begins to slow

Soul Searching
Drifton A Way Nov 2012
Hallucinations in life"s desert accompanied with my unquenchable thirst
Lacerations fade to scars to prove luck"s point that it wasn"t near the worst
Temptations conspire with times inevitable push as we all learn we"re cursed
Plantations wear us down as we are all slaves until our souls have traversed
Fascinations are shared before we hitch a ride on the grim reaper"s dark hurst
Elations are defiled like a child"s smile transformed after the last bubble"s burst
Cremations are compiled as ashes drift away off cliffs and are forever dispersed
Vibrations guide us through the universe so please join me as we dive head first

Take my hand my friend and lets go be free
No need to worry about having any eyes to see
trust me as our souls dance in the wandering sea
And accompany me through this glorious eternity
We are Universally linked paralleled to every degree
Soul searching for the destination that they call journey

Brave souls are blessed with this human shell as a test
A life materially possessed leads to a lonely empty nest
So don't waste time depressed on this short epic quest
You"ll forget all the rest when our souls have coalesced

Today
Drifton A Way Nov 2012
Soul erosion grinds away until eventual implosion
Build corrosion today until the ultimate explosion
Throw your Precaution to the winds I can smell in the dusty air once again it's new familiar sins
What has been will be, so no need to listen to me
You're truly free, use it to create and then you'll see

Mosquitoe tears mashed together with my own blood's smears

My deepest fears gashed holes in my souls fragile human years

Another wave appears, crashed to the shore and time again interferes

The mind clears as trashed worries burn and ring upon deaf ears

So many spheres, lives flashed in a dream,  then it all disappears

Equilibrium
Drifton A Way Oct 2012
Karma is as karma does, don't ever wonder why
Worry about what once was...until the day you die

Wasting days and nights as life"s burdens worsen
Commit before it is too late to be a better person
Enjoy the feast but most of all appreciate the famine
Indulge the beast but always look at life and examine

Regret is a curse drastically never to be undone
Numb and wash it over with momentary fun
Only to return again just like a smoking gun
Reminded when you eclipse me just like the sun
Been Sleepwalking through my daily race to run
Bittersweet life to leave, alive an then... You're done

The globe will spin as time again whispers in your ear
Deaths approaching all of us therefore you have no fear
Grasp the wheel decisively and let your fate begin to steer
But always analyze and learn from your rear view mirror
The road is slick, and windows fogged as you begin to veer
Traction comes as happy birthday drums bring another year
No matter how severe the storm becomes it will soon be clear
Jubilant exuberance from your eyes as they expel one last tear

Time...less
Drifton A Way Oct 2012
Effortless dust conspires with the ephemeral wind's devious desires
Lucid time transpires, while the illusion of life prevails then expires

When I need you, you're elusive, fleeting and distant
When I have you, you're abusive, cheating and resistant
When I leave you, you're reclusive, retreating, and nonexistent
When I bereave you, you're conclusive, defeating, and insistent

I rely on you to pass, mend and heal all my wounds, and cleanse the stain
I admire you in class, am reminded on full moons, and lose you in the rain

Blatant slaps in the face, blessed with you to waste, then we ask what you're worth
Silent gaps lost in space, stressed with a ******'s chaste, been by her side since birth
Eat the scraps fall from grace, obsessed with the taste, so many hungry facing dearth
Burned maps without a trace, pressed to make haste, as you tick down upon the earth

Worth...less
Drifton A Way Oct 2012
Headless chickens running aimless toward the almighty dollar
Blindly staring at the knife"s stainless steel amidst all the squaller

My thirsty soul argues against my numb skull to hold a thorough audition
They lewdly feud about potential candidates accrued to search for recognition
They conclude on a suspicion they mutually feared as a result of blind ambition
Search preludes the admission, that I found my dream car with no keys for ignition

Don"t question authority especially when it's the majority
Everyone knows the world is flat and let's just leave it at that
I bought water from you now I have ice to sell
I have a great story but no one worthy to tell
Hindsight should really be at least twenty fifteen
Because to admit we just don"t know is too obscene?

Blissful ignorance"s repugnant scent wafting through the cave
Mindless sheople"s chainlinked brains all dancing at the rave
Fire flickering Shadow puppets tastefully riding the next wave
Puppeteer wizard behind the curtain telling them how to behave
Misaligned redcoated frontline soldiers falsely labeled as brave
Life"s ironic conundrum puzzle, choosing which children to save
Diseased cement steadily drying in a world ever ready to pave
Hungrier than I"ve ever been, yet sickly devoid of things to crave

Life...less
Drifton A Way Oct 2012
What's the point?
Enjoy the ride?
Smoke a joint.
Now go and hide

Wait it out
You're just paranoid
Let out a shout
Just to fill the void

Feelings of emptiness
It's all in your head?
Inhumane levels of stress
Just go to bed

Nighttime rolls swiftly back again like an old familiar sin haunting the days end
Motivation creeps in, empty shoes ask where ya been to my bare footed skin
Worn down socks lay on the floor halfway out the door as if they couldn't take anymore
Life"s a bore if you know what"s in store, but if no one"s keeping score, then what"s it all for?

No matter how many times I made her ecstatically moan
No matter how many shots I made while in the zone
No matter how many things I"ve learned then shown
Just please always let the battle be forever known
That in the end we will all transcend again...alone

Sweetness
Drifton A Way Oct 2012
She is the object of affection

No matter how wide the selection

She gets in your head like an infection

She"s sweeter than any confection

But there"s a certain section

That I"m vying for inspection

Please no rejection or defection

Let me make a correction

I just want a you collection

Pardon the change in inflection

But I can"t hide the *******

Because when I look in your eyes and direction

I see more than my reflection

It's simply...just perfection

Striving for Strife
Drifton A Way Oct 2012
Here I rest on this glorious glistening hill
All alone, I was thrown, and now I lay still
I possess the will, and have honed the skill
I gaze upon the city and all my voids to fill
I ponder motives behind my next pill spill
Life pauses in limbo awaiting my next thrill

I question my goal, as it"s always the same, to win
I race down the hill only to climb right back up again
The blistering snow melts in on my bare frigid white skin
I strive with the ride to rid sin and achieve peace and zen

I feel so much more after I've managed a way to lose
A constant reminder from my soul"s deep dark bruise

I"m a Snowball slowly sliding atop a slender slippery *****
Rejuvenated riding life to the next blinding glimmer of hope

Why?...Not!!
Drifton A Way Oct 2012
For me, these things don't seem to be matter of questionable choice
If you understand my face, then there's no need to hear my voice

Like a beautiful bird's everlasting melody it sings
Never wasted, for all the joy that it's song brings
Until the grim reaper's phone call eventually rings
And I make an obvious decision on boneless wings

Ride me like a horse, and return me to my stable
Use me then divorce, just like you're stealing cable
Oh no, I broke my leg, hole in my head like a bagel
Is it chicken or the egg, either way life is a fable
choices that we made, until we're no longer able
No brainers weighed, don't ask me booth or a table?

So don't come to me with questions wasting time
If the winds blowing might as well hang a chime
Karma will always cleanse even the perfect crime
Deserted island, poetically just reached my prime
So much to say, but just became a professional mime
Always had two nickels but really wanted a dime
Life's pointless questions, like should a poem rhyme?
To me if you don't, you"re a mexican beer, w/out a lime

Age-Less
Drifton A Way Aug 2012
Numb is the one and the only unexplainable feeling
Unstoppable growth through the low, lonely ceiling

You need to Age-less and decide what it is you want
You need to confess your clear addiction to the hunt
it's 4th and very long and yet you still refuse to punt
Forever distracted by the smell of another new ****

Well, I want to experience life, and try almost everything
But If you had to choose one, what would Santa bring
It's a problem that's not solved, but hindered, by a ring
It's a familiar carol, stuck in your head, everyone can sing
Winters becomes spring, to summer, then falls to a fling
Even the exceptions  suffer an old familiar sharp sting

SO live life to the fullest they will all mutter with cliche
SO give to the richest while all the poor kneels to pray
Get in line little Sheople because it's now time to obey
Let us pine for the notion that God has instant replay
Because a karma less existence creates utter dismay
Truth with real consequence deviates a ghostly stay
Wondering Souls wandering until the end of the day
Finally found the right words...but nothing left to say

— The End —
