Yours for the Taking
Dominique Roche Feb 2013
You've moved all your things
into every crevasse of my head

You've consumed all the feelings
that get pumped out of my heart
and into my bloodstream

You've taken over my form,
and I no longer have control
over my actions

Just as if I was always yours for
the taking

Our Destiny
Dominique Roche Feb 2013
I refuse to think that we
started talking by coincidence

I neglect the fact that we
might have conversed by chance

I like to think that we were
brought together by fate

And that fate alone will keep
us together.

Forever.

Greed
Dominique Roche Feb 2013
I want nothing more than to spend
the rest of my eternity with you,
to wake up at two a.m. and see you
sound asleep.

I want nothing more than to have
the remainder of my days stolen
away by you, to forever be content,
to grow old with children.

And if I can't have that,
I don't want anything at all.

Frozen
Dominique Roche Nov 2012
We were once skating and
then the lake contained you
within, as if you were to blame
for keeping it frozen solid.

Bliss
Dominique Roche Nov 2012
Most people wind up kissing
the wrong person goodnight.

Then I look at you holding her
to your chest ever so tight,

And I can't help but remember
when we caressed by moonlight.

It was the very first time I felt

Miles
Dominique Roche Nov 2012
I find myself miles from where you are,
and yet, you are only a ten minute car ride
away.

Intellect
Dominique Roche Nov 2012
The way I see it, you can either act
stupid and have very few intelligent
moments or you can be intelligent
and have plenty dumb moments.

I, myself, prefer the latter.

Warm Showers
Dominique Roche Sep 2012
Just once, could you stop
to see that there is more
to life than warm showers
and electricity

Forget Me Nots
Dominique Roche Aug 2012
i tried to overlook
but like seedlings, you germinated
roots around my phalanges (like a dandelion)
from where we last touched.

over time and frigid winter weather, the roots
spread. around my metacarpals, intertwined
between my ulna and radius, all the way up
to my humerus and scapula.

by the spring, flowers sprouted just above my
collarbones, embracing my mandible.
little wilted blue petals surrounding me in my bed
each sunrise, but by noon, new petals already have
attached themselves to the receptacle.

by summer, i pluck their petals for amusement. as
they drift away in the breeze i can't help but to
remember you. us. we. and another thing i haven't
determined is whether you have forgotten me
or not.

Stirrings
Dominique Roche Aug 2012
And she loved him more than petrichor
and over-priced parfume. An over-
whelming wave of amatory prevailed
atop
the animosity. Loathing took a one-
eighty into lust. And all at once, feelings
that were entirely too familiar arose.

"I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way" -Pablo Neruda

Just as the final dispute had concluded, the forbidden phrase
was spoken. It was mutual, however, for it was known that
disfunction and chaos only led to destruction and confusion. It
was a misfortune, that the joy and laughter that at one point
could shake walls had deteriorated. Although, through the eyes
of fellows, the parting of ways was viewed as a kindness.

into a deep slumber, I forced
myself to stay conscious. For
what I had witnessed today
was awfully frightening!

While walking along the
pavement, I noticed something
quite not right.

The youngsters bolted around in
an unnatural, inhuman fashion.
The males resembled golems.

As I play out each finding, time
and time again, the sole conclusion
I can spot:
They're chemical children and
mechanical men!
