Its Complicated
Dineo Mpeko Aug 2015
Shattering verbs
Heating holding healer
Sophisticated conversations
Safe kept volumes of wealth enriched with bit and pieces of golden pedals
Falling on cold grounds
laid and stacked... stolen property
borrowed goods...
Torn between a broken heart and broken foot

Dear d a d
Dineo Mpeko Jan 2014
Where have you been?
Where were you?
When I turned my back on mankind
When I thought my world was coming to end and loosing hope
When all I  saw in a man was darkness
When I had my first heartbreak and swore never to love again

........ you where right there but your presence absent

How do I believe all these words men tell me when the man who seeded me has never told me
How beautiful and special I am
How one day I would find one who will love me unconditionally
How do I measure that unconditional love when I have never experienced it

I do not need a hero

All I need is to feel the warm, strength and comfort of your arms around me
The look of security......

All I need is my father...

Monday Morning
Dineo Mpeko Jun 2013
Never will I forget that Monday
The morning I walked barefooted and naked,
The morning I did not feel butterflies
The morning the I could only hear the silence of my heart,
The morning IT stopped beating and all I could hear was my bare feet stepping further and further away.

Away from the familiar songs of hymns and sound of jubilations.
Dismayed I walk on and on and on........
I chose my path, without looking back.

That is the morning I will never forget,
It was a Monday morning
And will always remain THAT Monday morning

Stolen Heart
Dineo Mpeko Mar 2013
When I met you our distant eyes looked in different directions
Navigating in our path to maturity without notice
Slowly and unaware that I have been bitten by your sweet venom
I reluctantly stagger towards the beaming light
Little did I know that my uncertainty would evolve into certainty
I have been concurred undisputed
Rivers have flown
We have seen the desserts of the Sahara
I have found and reached my destination
I see myself
I see you
I see us
We are two binded by one
We are one in need and in deed
We are inseparable by our seeds
Seeds displaying fruitful thoughts and prosperity
I surrender to you.

Dee
