In the first five minutes,

The only blades that cross your mind
belong to the fan cooling you from above.

The only love you yearn for
is that of your bed and the warmth it gives you.

The only hate that you feel
is for the sound of a ringing clock filling your waking ears.

Five blissful minutes.
When regrets and sadness do not fill your tormented mind,
when darkness does not fill your tired soul.

It only takes one step to walk over the edge
And if your heart is as cracked as the canyon under your feet,
I suggest you back away from it
Because the split rocks scattered around you
Are not good indicators of
The split seconds it would take
For your hands to reach the heavens and
Your face to connect with the ground beneath
And although your only thought is
Whether you would finally be able to fly
And reach the other side
You are only a human
Standing with your barefeet pressed into sand
And your toes kissing a ledge
And although you can't fly right now
That doesn't mean you never will
But it only takes one step to walk over the edge.

1.
**** having feelings.
Let me be a robot so
my parts aren’t broken.

2.
I still remember
waking up to his footsteps
and musky bedsheets.

3.
Don’t ******* ask me
about love you have stolen.
You should know **** well.

4.
A friend I lost asked
how I’ve been doing. I said,
who are you again?

5.
The hole he left was
an ugly nightmare at first.
Now it’s just a dream.

6.**
So the lesson is,
my dear, never be attached.
You’ll learn soon enough.

snow ribbons the night behind blinds, white
crackle over vinyl, black in ravines
undulating silt whisks the sea, bed
conversation of springs, yawn
to sleep on a twin mattress, turtle,
interred: orange branch to grove floor, hear-witness
flutes in unbearable dawn unposessable, flesh
and lavender stir in sleepy eye beds, rosebuds and breath
condense warm on rickety panes, chipped
beams stray suspended through poplar clouds, dissolve
avocado in manila teem, damp hush to skin folds, pores,
unseen burrows, pawed and pinhead heartbeats, meek
but if in unison: rainfall tremendous on canvas cover, sinuous
as the shanty cat spine, lilting: raking grain to wispy tail, cursive
trickle over creekbed washboard scrubs, whisper
sudding lace over iris-leather bed, wheat
murmurs iridescent in squint-eyed flaxen wind.

For taking love and not giving
I am greedy
For seeing love and not knowing
I am foolish
For wanting love and not waiting
I am impatient
For shunning love and not keeping
I am ungrateful
For needing love and not loving
I am selfish
For receiving love and not returning
I am unworthy
For loving love
I am human

it's hard to crack a
coconut while
sitting under the
water;
in order to understand
the fundamentals of a
broken heart
you've got to know the
secrets of the soul

wait.

99% of human beings
are enchanted
and to lick the moon
you don't always have to
travel to mars.

Now wait.

Prostrate without sleep
abreast with whispering winds
and forgotten word

Uncertainty taints
but undoubtedly waits; let
aspersion tickle

Like the time the place
the moon your face the roof the
days the stars i raze

As it begins to
set in skin; be my trust and
rain with fair roses.
