My religion
Debra Herrington May 2014
Build me a church
To hold all my beliefs
I take all the chances
And am known as the thief.
I tried to warn you,
That all this was a lie.
Nobody told me,
All u wanted was to die.

Catch my eye,
Give me a wink.
All that u know
Will be gone in a blink.
And the stagnation of faith,
Leaves a holy stink.

Believe in me,
I'll never lead u astray.
Who do u think,
Took all ur pain away?
Held u in my heart,
Protected u from fire.
Now all that's left,
is love and desire.

Close ur eyes now,
There r things I must do.
And I don't want to lose
The admiration of you.
Let's call it a dream,
One that's hard to see,
So u don't remember
What u could really be.

And if sometimes It's hard,
for u to go to sleep,
Don't think of the past,
It'll drag u in to deep.
And once ur down that far
It's hard to return.
And the chances r good,
You'll be left to burn.
