I feel as if you would only look down on me
Look down on me as if I were the mere mud,
the lumpy
messy
bothersome mud,
t r a p p e d
within the crevices
of the rubber soles
of those over-used hiking boots
This poem talks about the fear of expressing your true feelings towards him.  You body feels lumpy, your soul feels messy, and you feel like a bother; trapped.  Waiting for him to accept you. Waiting for him to realize that you're more than the mud trapped on the bottom of his shoes.

A world where God is Love,
The air is ripe,
We walk around with naked feet,
And throw up flowers
