Possibilities Infinite
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Grant me wings so I may fly,
Weightless floating, high in the sky,
Above the ignorance of other people,
No one understands that we're all equal.
Born on this planet earth,
Set in stone at the moment of birth,
People need to realize,
All our truths succumbed to lies,
Dreams of soaring aside eagles,
Just to wake on a bed of needles.
Freedom comes with a price,
Over time, became twice, and thrice.
Sleeping comfort on a cloud,
Problems of the earth endowed,
Upon your shoulders, wrapped with burden,
Atlas shrugged and no one heard him.
If there's anything I've learned in life,
Love your neighbor, love your wife,
Love your family, pray for good health,
Fear no evil , for you have wealth,
Wealth of mind , body , and spirit,
Use these tools, possibilities, infinite.

United
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Quiet laughter, loud refrain,
Broken smiles, complete disdain,
Empty souls and growing debt,
Abundant pain, beguiled threat,
Broken promises, elected czar.
The world once known, lost afar,
What little left being crushed to dust,
Like the pages of an ancient text,
John Goodfellow left with no one to trust,
Constant fear of what comes next.
Common folks like you and me,
Must come together, two by three.
Standing up for what is right,
Don't go down without a fight.
All of us, hand in hand,
Could save that for which we stand.

Gone
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Tired of this shameful being,
Thoughts of joy now turned to bleeding,
Thoughts were once so pure and free,
Now they work to imprison me.
Mental prison's are much the worst,
Feelings pressured, soon to burst.
Bridges burned, friends reduced,
Visions blurred, pain deduced.
Problems absolved, plans created,
Leave this place, shadows faded.
Time will keep on going on,
With or without, soon I'm gone,
Gone to live with nature's being,
Alone in peace , I'll die believing,
This had to be done, cant stand the state,
Of all this world, mine will be great,
No matter what I have to do,
Soon Mrs. Earth , I'll be with you.

There lives a man
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Thoughts echo, mental void,
Deep, dark, empty void,
****** it here, ****** it there,
****** it up, ****** it up.
Demons come and demons go,
Demons live and demons sow,
Demons die , demons lie,
Demons cloud demons pry.
Sober thoughts, drunken words,
Red skies , infernal birds.
In the dark , there lives a man,
Alone and cold, there lives a man,
There he sits a simple man,
Soul abandoned , a lonesome man,
He wants to die, deaths a thought,
Whats the point , just a thought,
Angels cry, and demons hiss,
Living life, voided bliss,
Life will come and life will go,
A dark man comes here, to and fro,
Prys his eyes and ****** his brain,
Slowly still he goes insane,
In the dark there lives a man,
Trying to do the best he can,
Dieing is just a simple plan,
Will he try? he can he can,
At what cost, does life come too,
Red white black and blue,
No one but himself to blame,
No one but himself to shame.
There a man, still a boy,
Yearning for his ode to joy.

Don't Bother
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
You ask me why do I act this way,

Well then tell me how to act,

I don't give a **** what they say,

Life's always under attack,

You'll never understand who I am,

Our paths do not intersect,

The hour glass running out of sand,

We're out of time to reflect,

You've made your choice and I've made my own,

There's no more time for regrets,

I hope someday that you make it home,

Just know that I won't forget ,

Stop intersecting your life with mine,

Move on and learn to accept,

You chose the life that you have that's fine,

I guess I was to inept,

Someday soon I will understand,

Life in all it's respect.

Chocolate box in my hour hand,

Don't know what to expect.

Under the Alaskan Sun
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Nine months of darkness,

Snow on the ground,

No leaves on the trees,

No warmth around.

As the winter comes to a close,

Lakes and rivers still seem froze,

Soon the waters will break free,

Moving life  far as eyes can see,

And now its time to have some fun,

Playing under the Alaskan sun.

Rivers are running , bears now conscious,

Birds a flutter, fish obnoxious,

Breathing in the summer air,

Floating down the river bare,

Baggie of green, cooler filled supreme,

Almost as if, it were all a dream.

When I look back, old and grey,

I'll remember the nights and days,

When we found euphoria under the Alaskan sun.

Happy for eternity.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
All the days go by the same,

No one but my self to blame,

Can't find a reason for my shame,

I need that someone to ignite my flame,

That someone will be mine,

Eventually, in due time,

That natural beauty in her eye ,

Could brighten any dark night sky,

That light blue aura, could make angels cry,

If you leave then I would die,

On the inside, I wont lie.

All I want to do is be,

With you happy, for eternity.

Surprise
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Standing on the frozen water, underneath the turquoise plain,

Temperature not getting hotter, chills set in and ease the pain.

Problems of your prior self, discarded at the price of health.

Peoples problems of today, vain and solemn, so cliche.

Imagine a desolate waste, bone chilling cold like that of space,

You're all alone, you have no place to call home,

You've got no phone, to call for a ride,

There's no one to call, there's no one to drive.

Buildings unheated , feeling defeated.

This is where humanity lies, struggling hard to survive,

Battling nature to stay alive, learning how to surely thrive.

Judged not by wealth, looks, or popularity,

But by hard work, devotion, and charity.

One day soon we will return,to the beginning when the skies were burned.

I pray for all that we'll realize, were all the same, what a surprise.

One August Morning
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
One August morning, waiting for those birthday presents,

Then with no warning, down stairs came my parents,

And with them came a special surprise,

Our family was ending , due to lies.

Divorce was the word of choice,

Pain in my fathers voice ,

Too young to understand,

Why this was being planned,

Ever since this **** event,

My family has grown more distant.

Soon after mom was gone,

My eldest sis embarked upon,

A journey of her own.

My other sis went with mom,

All alone with dad .com,

Stayed with him a couple of years,

Soon followed the steps of my family peers,

I feel bad for leaving,

Left my father , alone and grieving,

Why should I be the one to stay,

When it comes down to it, were all grey,

One day maybe we,

Can once again be family.

Trials
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
The sun will rise, and the sun will set,

Everyday, the older you get,

Daily lessons , taught yourself,

Experience gained, set atop a shelf.

Mental problems thought to be,

A silent solemn catastrophe.

I heard wisdom comes with age,

I see different , turn the page,

Wisdom seems to come with trials,

Placed in front, stretched out for miles,

Some will make and some will break,

Lessons out there for the take,

Failing and falling down,

Just remember not to frown,

Get back up a little wiser,

Throw the gas on the fire,

Ignite the flame that is your brain,

Live your life it's open bar,

Just don't forget who you are.

From my depressed days.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
I just want to disappear,

Take me somewhere far from here,

Show you all my side of fear,

In fact go grab me some ******* beer,

Time to forget about my pain,

Forget my troubles , pickle my brain.

Travel somewhere on a train,

Beat an old man with his cane,

I'm just kidding about the violence,

Couldn't stand the loud *** silence,

Now I'm not pointing the blame ,

I don't need help carrying this shame ,

Back to the beginning of this,

Blink my eyes then take a ****,

Try to find a girl to kiss ,

Find my self lost in bliss,

O wait, I forgot I'm drunk,

Just another loser flunk,

I just want to disappear ,

Take me some place far from here.

Never give up.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Happiness is hard to find ,

You try to live well and be kind,

But nothing ever seems to be,

As it should , nothings free.

Work work work for all your life,

Hoping someday you'll find a wife,

Then one day you find a knife,

Buried deep inside your back,

All your thoughts soon turn to black.

But one thing to keep in mind,

At your lowest you will find,

Only way to go is up,

Turn your fear, stress and anger,

Realize how to look at your cup,

Take what you've got, never give up.

Heal
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
As I sit in silent thought,

Of all the things I've been taught,

I ponder questions like who and why?,

Why am I here , and why not die?

I think about the simple life,

Working hard, loving a wife,

No problems but those of nature,

Surviving her forces and her anger,

Feelings deprived, unbelieved,

Her storms subside, and do relieve,

The pressures of the world around,

The sun reveled , it's warmth unbound,

To warm and heal the scars of the earth,

The scars of us, and the scars of birth.

Where?
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Where are we to go from here?

The **** is gone, there's no more beer,

The air is quiet, not a sound,

The people have left, no one around,

Your all alone, no one to guide you,

Lost in a dream, yourself to find you ,

Wishing you could take it back,

Surrounded by that deep space black,

When you feel less then bright,

Know that through darkness, comes light.

Hate displaced
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Someday soon , we will fly,

High in the clouds , above the sky,

Soaring weightless, no ratios or angles,

Graceful floating, as if with angels.

Slowly drifting above the earth,

Departing the place we were given birth,

Some day soon we will find a place,

Where happiness reigns and hate displaced.

There won't be race or color,

Just the race of human brothers,

Sisters, mothers , fathers, children,

No religion, nothing to burden,

No such thing as a hellish infernal,

Just a place where happiness , reigns eternal.

Fight for the light.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
I am a fighter for the light,

Destroying demons in the night,

The world is evil and so are you ,

But you can change with what you do.

Educate yourself, on how things work,

Don't be duped by a pompous ****,

Exercise your rights as men,

Don't become a slave to them.

You have to know your right from wrong,

Before everything you love is gone,

You have to be the best you can,

Pray not for a life of ease,

Pray to be a stronger man.

Sacrifices Daily
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Sacrifices daily, leave you less and less,

Pressure all around you , taken breath by breath,

Pieces of a puzzle, slowly put together,

Pieces of a puzzle, to be lost forever.

Dreams of frolicking in the sand,

Discarded like a beaten hand.

Sands of time have placed you here,

A land of lonely broken fear,

An enveloping pool of shattered tears,

Created gradually over years and years.

Keep present the ones that mean the most,

In the end, we'll make a toast,

To celebrate the times we've had,

Whether good, or mildly bad,

At least will have each others will,

When the sands of time stand still.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
All these lonely nights, I lay awake in zen,

A couple to my left, another twice past them,

As I lay in silent wonder,

I ask my self,  "where is my other? "

I am not a perfect man,

Capable of love? believe I am,

So many times I shouldn't have run,

I told my self I needed to have fun,

You only live once you know,

And as time fades you seem to grow,

More aware of how things are,

All that fun , now twice as far,

From finding that one special companion,

Most likely end up alone and abandoned,

Only you can change your ways,

Don't let your self drift to a haze.

Regret.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
I'll be your biggest regret,

One you try hard to forget,

Passed over,

No second glance,

Pushed aside,

No second chance.

I'm the thorn in your side,

Drifting away in low tide,

Remembering all those times,

Things appeared to be fine,

In the blink of an eye,

Marooned alone to gaze the sky.

Deep space, where my soul resides,

Feeling all the planets collide,

Will we make it out alive,

Not for us to decide.

Just wish you'd look and see,

How right we are, you and me,

But no matter how far we get,

You know I'll be your biggest regret...

Time and time again.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Time and time again,

I feel I've reached the end,

A kind of deep dark hollow,

Which self-pity soon doth follow.

I feel like a piece of **

Useless material , disposed seen fit.

So many stones I've left unturned,

So many bridges I shouldn't have burned,

What is the point of this thing called life?

All I see is pain and strife,

Though sometimes you feel you've dealt a good hand,

It always comes down, crushed in to sand.

I may not be the perfect person,

I've lived, and learned, and almost certain,

Somewhere in this crazy place,

Maybe here or outer space,

There's a reason to why were all here,

And when we get there I will cheer,

For we are only human, now pass me a beer .
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Once again I feel defeated,

Still alone, slowly depleted,

Sitting lonesome in quiet wait,

For something to initiate.

Just one message , on my phone,

To get me up and out of home.

I once thought that time was slow,

My father tried to let me know,

Now that time has gone and past,

I understand time is constant and very fast,

Remember all those times, you said "I know"

Parents would warn, but still you'd go,

Out into the night, not a care in the world,

Parents up late, worried sick, your not killed.

If I knew when I was young,

How much pain I would cause some,

I would have changed the error of ways,

Changed directions, had better days,

No going back, time travel non existent ,

Know what you have, gone in an instant.

Sunny Days and Rainy Nights.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Sunny days and rainy nights,
Thunder howling causing fright,
Everyone says it will be alright,
Try to endure with human might.
Places I'll go, and places I've been ,
Where will I start, where will I end ,
No one to tell me , no one to send,
Letters to my family if I can't fend .
Time goes on and days go by,
Years and years seem to fly,
Time goes on and tears are cried,
Life's a roller coaster, enjoy the ride.
Ups and downs from time to time,
Try to keep your head right, rhyme for rhyme,
Work hard as you can, dime for dime,
Following the wind , chime for chime,
Don't expect humility, life is raw,
Fall down, bounce up, like a see saw.
When you're down you will find,
Emotions on paper can ease your mind,
Write what you feel, it can free your bind,
Life is a ***** and death is kind.
Only thing I've left to say,
Live, laugh, love and enjoy the day.

You're the artist.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Everything happens for a reason,

No matter the time of day or season.

Whether it be good or bad,

No need to be mad or sad.

These emotions will waste your focus,

In due time you will notice,

How distracting they can be.

Close your eyes and you will see.

Think of things that bring you joy,

Not of things that stress and annoy,

When times are hard and you are low,

Destiny will appear and show,

The reason for the transpiration,

No need for contemplation.

Everything will be okay,

Time goes on, day to day,

Make a reason for yourself,

Rescue your emotional health,

Keep on trekking, go the farthest,

Change the stars, you're the artist.

A day without the wind.

A night without the sky.

Today a man sinned,

Today a man cried.

With tomorrow, comes anew,

Though yesterday did too.

Yesterday a man lied,

Yesterday a man died,

Tomorrow a man is born,

Tomorrow a man is scorn.

All the while, time moves on,

The sun sets, and a man is gone,

Dawn breaks free, and the sun appears,

A man is found, with beers and tears,

A day without the wind,

A night without the sky,

Today,  a man Grinned,

Today,  a man tried.

Today,  a man found salvation.

Here I stand.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Here I stand, a lonely man,

Aimless wandering with out a plan,

Planet Earth is where I roam,

The last frontier I call my home,

Ever searching for the truth,

Growing wiser since my youth,

Family and friend are all you need,

My advice, I insist, you heed,

Though love seems to heal,

Make certain that love is real,

If it wasn't meant to be,

Lock it up and hide the key,

Don't let the pain get you down,

Someday your key will be found,

When that day comes to show,

Happiness in you will grow,

When it comes to school and work,

Try your hardest not to shirk,

Pay attention in your class,

Don't do your work half-assed,

Respect others, respect yourself,

Respect time, respect health,

In general, just have respect,

Evil temptations you must reject,

Don't spend time being depressed,

Thoughts of stress you can suppress,

Be the best you can be,

The price of happiness isn't free,

Stay clean, resist relapse,

True freedom, you will grasp,

Sound the trumpets, crack a Pabst.
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Another head hangs low,

Open up your eyes,

Nothing left to show,

In for a surprise.

Brainwash subliminal,

Far too criminal,

What to do when it all goes bang?

Safe to say the fat lady sang.

Free peoples unite,

The time has come to fight,

World leaders in cahoots,

Lost meanings of salutes.

Boiling in to a revolution,

Seems to me the only solution.

Creative arts lost their purpose,

Look far beneath the surface.

People flocking to normality,

What happened to individuality?

Freedom to think doth still remain,

Ability to question we must retain.

Lessons of the past slowly erased,

Rights and freedoms slowly defaced.

Today is only the past of tomorrow,

Don't let our futures turn to sorrow.

Morality
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Is there any morality?

This is not reality,

I'm tired of falling down,

Where is the sanity?

To caught up with vanity,

Still searching to be found.

Always keep my head up,

Never ever let up,

Pick me back up off the ground,

Is it in my head,

Is it in your bed,

A rather too familiar sound,

And all the while the earth keeps spinning,

Judge me not for I am winning,

Only you can keep yourself from sinning.

Leave my head or come to me,

After all this you will see,

I have been right here all along,

Hide your feelings, behind a bottle,

Pain is fuel, engage the throttle,

Accept the fact that maybe you were wrong.

Ponder
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Here I find myself again,

Re-embracing thoughts of then.

Ponder that of which I was,

Ponder that of where I've been.

Visions flash and disappear,

Pieces hidden from my view,

Connecting them should be so clear,

Parts of time remain askew.

Answers of this world I seek,

Though all I've found seems far to bleak.

My north and south begin to clash,

I fear I have become to weak,

Day to day though still I strive,

Staring through distorted glass.

On and on my brain will drive,

Waiting for this life to pass.

Some days your right, some days your wrong,

Some days seem to last way to long.

Some days you gotta rip the ****,

Some days the current seems far too strong.

Life can be a crazy place,

Billions of people face to face,

Different people, different dreams,

Overpopulating streams.

Trudging forward through the spawn,

Endless trudging till the dawn.

Take a breath hit the ****,

Some days the current seems far to strong.

Night will fall and days go on,

Swim until the pain is gone,

Salvation soon to come upon,

Some days the current seems far too strong.

Grey clouds in the sky with snowflakes adrift,

A world in disguise, caught in a rift,

Crumbling virtues with nothing to sift,

A broke down world , in need of a lift.

When you think of life what do u see?

A bunch of hungry people, few are free,

A bunch of crazy people spitting blasphemy,

Nothing ever is how it ought to be.

Lies and deceit make this world incomplete,

Try to paint a picture, get knocked off my feet,

Get up even stronger , my foes I will defeat,

Try to bring me down but I will not deplete.

Greed is the reason for this worlds hate,

Money is the key to the frozen gate,

Stand up together before it's to late,

Or corruption and poverty remain our fate.

Stay True
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
I keep on writing to express my feelings,

Sorry to those who don't get my meanings.

I've always got a lot going through my brain,

Some days it seems I may go insane,

I try to stay level, keeping my cool,

Processing life with my greatest tool.

Bullet in my pocket , but not for crime,

I'm the only one who can choose my time.

Thoughts of death don't bring me fear,

Though for you it may cause a tear.

I apologize for what you didn't hear,

I apologize for not letting you steer.

But this is what I have become,

Daily more en-cumbersome,

Though my life has just begun,

I stand up tall, refuse to run.

I stand up for what I believe,

Against all odds I will achieve,

Through the smog of those who deceive,

Concentrate your mind and you will perceive,

The truth for what it's really worth,

Capable since the day of birth.

If atlas shrugs and drops the ball,

Its up to us, me, you, and all.

Countless days spent all alone,

A match for me, remains unknown,

Unturned I've left more than one stone.

Wishing I could be complete,

Lift me up out of this seat,

Break these chains around my feet,

Free my mind from it's defeat.

Though we have not yet begun,

I need you like the earth the sun,

and when it all is said and done,

I promise you I will not run.

Yet to find the one for me,

Soon enough eventually,

The time will come and you will see,

You and I were meant to be.

Drop the ocean, Lift the sky
Daniel Berg Oct 2013
Drop the ocean, lift the sky,
Today seems like a goodbye,
Memories of your voice forever linger.
Drink the potion, get me high,
Tears start to multiply ,
You wouldn't even try to lift a finger.
Cast the demons, out of here,
Lift me up, I have no fear,
Show you what it means to say I love you.
Wake me up, grab a beer,
Fill my cup, and shed a tear ,
My love for you has always been this true.
Drain the ocean , engulf the land,
Time to focus , begin again,
Learn to live without you by my side.
Convey the notions, my own brand,
Revolve my life, and take a stand,
Without you , I know, I will be alright.
Ring the bell, Sound the horn,
Today i have been reborn,
I can do this all on my own.
Rise the fell, Mend the torn,
Persevere through all the scorn,
My , look at how much you have grown.
Drop the ocean , lift the sky,
Today seems like a goodbye,
Memories of your voice forever linger.

— The End —
