past
Dana Carolina Apr 2013
don't stop running,               overflowing thoughts       memories are flooding fast
don't look back.                     my minds bursting          eyes closed to disappear,
won't escape the past.         flowers burning,                 I can still feel them near
it's getting clearer,                 heart thumping                 like a stampede,
almost nearer                         don't collapse,                        I can barely breathe through my lungs
                                                 don't look back                   shadows darkening,
                                                                                                  cold air blows

                                  I can feel          my heart
                               explode...no     more directions,
I've come to a hault, my brain
                                  can't take it anymore, it's
                                        all my fault.............
                                          ........................
                                             ..................
                                                ............
                                                    ......

When will I satisfy your never ending anger
that fills the entire room with flames?
You burn and scratch at my skin
until I can no longer breathe.
I’m trapped in the room,
and you don’t bother to look back at the mess you created.
With scars filled with hate,
to blood that sizzles my rough skin.
I’m burning and I can’t get out of here.
If you didn’t want me you could’ve at least screamed it to the world,
but instead you leave me lying on the rock-hard ground.
You leave me to burn in my own hatred,
and desire to be loved.

waterhose
Dana Carolina Mar 2013
water is scarce
the          smallest
      droplets
keeps              me
       alive,
but you stand over me
-
you're the one,
who cut my life short,
the person who held the hose
so that no water would fall
into my dry hands that begged to be moistened
I thought about children who have no water in this poem.

defeated battle
Dana Carolina Mar 2013
One day your fear will come,
and you may surrender
But I'll be here,
in the faint color of your lips
To tell you a story,
about your brave risk
Of how you overcame your biggest fear
-
Your fragile skin was pale,
fragile,
dissolving away
Your eyes defined the fear
There was only so much you could see,
but your passion to fight was immense
I didn't want to leave you,
but I let you fight in your defense
-
You lost the battle,
and your fear won
My decision was painful,
I wish it's something I would've undone
Because now you are left in pieces,
all over the floor
Not sure if you can stand pain anymore
-
I left you in your battle,
and it's all been done
You were defeated,
it was my fault
I didn't help,
you're gone.

one millisecond to spot you
two seconds is all it takes for my eyes to reach yours
three hours since you left me
four days and i can't help but remember the memories that remained here
five more minutes and i'll lose my mind
six weeks and your name is still carved into my brain
seven seconds remain in the day
eight hours ago i tried to text you again
nine months since i've last seen your photo
ten years since your death.
