Sitting at work wonder how i got here in the first place
I thought i had prepared for this thought i had won the rat race
Put my hand in my pocket and realize Im broke
40hours of work for this what a joke

Bill collectors calling all the time
What do they think I have , Im living collecting dimes
I need this to turn around I need to succeed

I stare out the window trying to make up my mind
The clock keeps ticking, nothing can stop father time

I feel like a rat in a cage
It's so **** frustrating i am filled with rage
The church bells ring, the dark settles in
I walk to other room to look to see what's in the bin

You don't come home you don't pick up the phone
Did something happen or did you just decide to roam
I pick up the phone to see what is next
You interrupt my call with another boring text

Getting ready for the show
Going to get rocked that i know
Seen them one or twice before
Like a drug i need more & more

The songs resemble my life
The music fills my soul
I sing along with them the best i can
They are the best rock n roll in this land

The show ends but not my buzz
Why do i love them well it's just because
They have lived my life have done the same
The only difference is they have the fame

On the road i go following them around
from City to city town to town
Since the beginning i got hooked
It ain't a fad, its a rock n roll text book

But man id do it again on a second or third chance

It's not numbing is a way to lead a life
