When I am Not There
hello sunshine Nov 2018
Who do you talk to,
When i am not there?
I can’t see what you do,
What you say, what you think.
I can’t control only you,
Leave me? Wait, Let me think.
yes I have been here,
For you and for me
Yes I do love you,
unconditionally.
You see all this pain it’s over now,
I love you and want you,
Just let me show you how.

Tired
hello sunshine Nov 2018
I’m tired of working,
Day in and out.
Half the time I’m not getting paid.
I have a real job,
That pays poorly.
Then I come home,
And slave away to my parents desire.
Don’t get me wrong ,
I love them.
But I’m tired,
I need to breathe.
I’m tired,
And need a break.

Bad and Good
hello sunshine Nov 2018
sometimes we deserve things,
bad and good.
sometimes we hurt people,
bad and good.
but maybe just for once,
we would like help in return,
we have the same need to feel loved,
can someone please just,
let us feel loved?

You aren’t her
hello sunshine Nov 2018
You deserve the world,
You have worth.
You are happy,
You are young and naive.
Believe in anyone and anything.
Santa is real.
You can love,
You are loved.
Play with your friends,
Don’t worry about a thing.
You are not her anymore,
Grades will slip,
Friends will leave,
I know it’s unexceptable.
Taking No for an answer,
Is something I never did.
Giving up,
My problems are solved.
No more friends,
***** them.
They were never good to me,
They stole my love.
Do I deserve it?
Never mind that,
The rope is mine.
I can end it.
End all of this right now!
(Now read it backwards)

Standards
hello sunshine Nov 2018
They’re in our world,
Making us all angered,
with all their words,
putting us in danger,
we don’t want it,
we don’t need it,
but are we brave enough to fight.

We modify ourselves
To be perfect
we start around age twelve,
with these secrets.
how we, cut our hair real short
to fit in.
yeah, build up that fort
don’t let nobody in

We see retouched photos plastered among us,
We choose to strive to be like these people.
It’s always been said “be yourself and nobody else”,
But it’s so hard to come back up from this steep hill.
Where we’ve fallen into this numbing society,
Where being overweight is not going to cut it.
When these people have self hatred and anxiety,
They’d almost do anything to emit,
This perfect image.

The truth is the word perfect is false,
There is no such thing as perfect.
Everybody has their flaws,
That’s because everybody is different.
We are beautiful inside and out,
But yet so blind that we can’t even see this.
There shouldn’t be a doubt,
Because we already know this.
This false image of perfect is being installed,
Into our brains and into our lifestyle.
We are willing to scald,
Our own flesh doing up our hair just to make others smile.
We use makeup to hide our imperfections,
To make us look like everybody else.
To create our false complections,
And be physically pleasing alongside anyone else.
We develop eating disorders,
To have the perfect body.
We’ve hit these borders,
Where all that’s left is to disembody,
Everything left of the real you,
For somebody that you may never be.
