Prized Possession
Dahlia Jul 2015
I threw my most prized possession away
Packed it up and left it one day
I realized soon that it was a mistake
But I realized it a little too late
For no pleading nor begging could bring it back
And there was nothing else in this world quite like that
I never should have thrown it away
But for my mistake I shall pay
To my dearly beloved, I tell you this:
You I will forever miss

Colors
Dahlia Jul 2015
Glimmering yellow rises in the east
Overpowering blue falls upon you

As the yellow rises up outside
The blue builds up inside

The yellow fades away, and the blue comes in
The blue churns and churns to black

As the black rolls over
The red spills

Black is pushed away by yellow
But all that's left is black

The long time it took to say hello
                                        Was not worth
The short time it took to say goodbye
