I love my Christmas tree
Beautiful and white
Even before any ornaments, lights and tinsel
It is nice to see my old friend, out of the  box again
Then as the lights go on, the decorations, the tinsel
The popcorn and cranberries strung together and hung on the tree with care
My friend starts to glow filling the room with a light that covers everything like a hug
Now it looks like Christmas again
So my friend will vacation with me all of December
Then go away in the box and rest for 11 months
I will miss seeing the warm glow my friend shared each day
But will see it again next December

I came
I saw
I loved and felt more love
Than I ever thought possible
Happiness each day
Now I stand by
And watch as my whole world is taken away
You are so wrong
But this you will not see
So take away my very reasons
For getting up each day
Because I will always have my memories
And you will never be able to take them from me
So now
I shall sit, think, remember and smile
And be thankful for the time I had with them
For now

Christmas is just around the bend
Another long year has come to an end
13 Christmases you've been away
It's sad to have another Christmas this way
As I put the decorations up on the wall
I have little teardrops that start to fall
As I stand and look at the Christmas tree
I wonder if you ever think of me
It's funny how with Christmas I can be glad
And at the same time my heart is so sad
If you only knew, if you could only see
You not being here is so hurtful for me
When this Christmas comes to an end
I will start my wishing all over again
I wish that I will see you, and hug you too
And have my Christmas wish come true
Next Christmas

Sorry you are no longer here. If only I could talk to you and let you know how much you really are loved. If only we were allowed do overs.  To take back words that I know hurt you. If only I could have that last phone call we had, only this time I would not hang up on you. If only I could talk to you again and be the friend I should have been. If only.
