Time
Corey Gregory Jun 2013
You shouldn't try
To measure it
For one knows not,
Of its treasures or those sought.

Fleeting and gone,
A wayward wind
Fleeting, innocuous,
An impossible mystery.

Intrinsic value,
At times misplaced
Or irreversibly spent,
That which cannot be bought.

Ending and beginning,
Remembered but forgot
It pushes and pulls inside
Of me never without thought.

Pursuit
Corey Gregory Jun 2013
I am tired,
Weary for tomorrow’s journey
That has not yet come.

A drought hit me,
Draining the well once refreshed
Replacing with thirst.

Pulling me ahead,
The rope of obligation and responsibility
Keep me moving.

I cannot resist,
Or render myself motionless,
And quit.

My eyes are closed,
But my heart and soul is open,
Ready for something.

A pure purpose,
My soul searches and scans timidly
For a direct path.

It isn’t there,
And I’m foolish to look
I can’t help it.

So I remain tired,
Clinging on to a moment today,
There’s still hope.
