Roses
Corey Glasper Feb 2012
Roses are red.

Violets are blue.

I never thought I'd meet a girl a great as you.

Roses are red.

Most grass is green.

You are the prettiest thing I have ever seen.

Roses are red.

Dirt is brown.

I just might die if I see you frown.

Roses are red.

Lemons are yellow.

I know for a fact I'm the luckiest fellow.

Roses are red.

My heart is red too.

Not near as red as my cheeks when I give it to you.

Roses are red.

Purple and orange are hard to Rhyme.

I'd prefer to think of you...better way to spend time.

Roses are red.

We'll say the stars are white.

But compared to you they'll never be as bright.

Roses are red.

The night is black.

But you are my light to keep the night at my back.

So now we definitely know that roses are red.

Now we definitely know you're amazing.  It's true.

I think it's safe to say...that I love you.

Someday
Corey Glasper Feb 2012
Someday when I'm old and wasting away,
Someday when I look back on that beautiful day.
The day that we met, the simplest of ways.
Two peoples worlds suddenly swirled in a daze.
That day when I look back, eyes covered in glaze.
I'll remember the way you stood in that place.
The way you finger your hair, so neatly it lays.
Your sweetness plummeting me into a maze.
A maze for my mind, led out by radiant rays.
Rays from your mouth, the loveliest symphony plays.
Your personality, never tainted by frays.
I'll sit there someday knowing my heart still sways.

I'll remember the way your hand fit in mine for that feeling.
That feeling of care and emotional healing.
The knowledge that my heart was just what you’re stealing.
Your eyes breaking me down like an onion, peeling.
There's nowhere but up, possibilities with no ceiling.
Such a happiness evoked, like a young child, squealing.

Sitting in your glow like I'm soaking up the sun.
I knew that my war was already won.
Won for the one, one below none.

Someday, not actually wasting away.
Living for you, never wasting, we stay.

Someday.

Birds and Bees
Corey Glasper Feb 2012
And some day when I sit,
content in my rocking chair
Watching life soar by,
I'll look to my side and see
my world taking it's time
Reading a book
enjoying a cool summers Breeze
and my world will look up
from that book
"What is wrong?"
but I'll have no reply

For While I watch life soar by
I'll hear a whisper in my ear.
We've had a great run,

Enjoy the birds and the bees.
Leave the rest up to me,
You're in the best of company.
I'll just nod and agree.

To my world,  I will say
"Nothing.  It's just beautiful today
Watching the birds fly away
And the bees noisily play.
I'm in great company,
Just listening to cars zooming by
Watching my life like a movie
It's happy ending so sweet.

I see a girl and a boy, well evolved in years.
They look so happy on that cool summer's Eve.
Her reading a book,
Him rocking peacefully."
