by 1 member This collection began with a performance art theatre piece called "Hauswife Home," which I participated in as an "on-stage sobbing housewife poet." I wrote poems on the back of advertisements from the 50s and 60s which were directed at women, especially mothers, and these were distributed by other actors, and sometimes angrily thrown by myself into the audience. The piece's aim was to explore and reconsider the figure of the perfect 1950s housewife-mother as she is created and recreated in the subconscious of american culture.
