Given that these processes ultimately underlie our existence and our experience, it feels appropriate that elements of the human condition reflect them.
Entropy is the process of a system moving from order to disorder. From an initial state of high order - the big bang, our universe has moved towards complexity, disorder and chaos. I feel this disorder grow in loss, as my ordered system decays.
Entanglement is the process whereby fundamental particles are created in pairs, and their fate is inextricably tied. An effect on one will instantaneously bring about a corresponding effect on it's twin, regardless of spatial or temporal separation. This intrinsic connection seems to reflect deep human connection.
Uncertainty is a central concept to the quantum description of reality. Until observed, particles and systems can only be described in terms of probability. They only become real, with a definite location, if we observe them. This reflects the way our own reality is constructed through interaction with others. If nobody observes us, do we cease to be real?
