My days were dreary, monotonous;
The world painted in shades of black.
I was living a facade,
Pretending to be blithe
My fragile armour
Was cracking fast.
But in the
Darkness
Hope
Is found;
Pain slackens.
You are my light;
Just as the sun's rays,
Your smile shines through the night
Flooding me with intense heat.
I staggered through the grim twilight
And found you in the most absurd place.
My muse has finally come back to me!!! This poem is kind of like a sort of sequel to "Our 'Happy Ending'"

You asked me where my glasses were last night.
Me of course being the responsible person I am,
Replied that I had lost them...
Again.
You took off yours,
Those square frames that scream it's you,
And gave them to me.
I pretended to test them out,
Because I knew that's what you wanted.
But all I could think about,
Was how close you were to me
And the pounding like a drum in my chest.
You see everything in the world through those glasses....
Except what's right in front of you.
Just a little something that came to mind when reminiscing about Friday night.

I thought I knew what love was...
Stolen glances across the room
The blush that rose when you spoke my name
Those late night conversations...
But it shattered beneath me.

As the miles stretched behind me,
I saw our "happy ending" fade.
And yet I tried to think of a way
For you to come back.
But I knew you never would.
This is the first poem in a series of little related ones.
