Can’t escape,
The love,
The fate,
The hate,
These things that revolve,
Some stay,
Others dissolve,
These things that pierce your skin,
And soothe within,
Beat in your head,
Instead,
The thoughts prevail,
Pound in your heart like hail,
Can’t escape the war of heart and soul,
Only one must take control.
You were once mine,
I thought of no other at the time.
Your smile made my heart rev like an engine,
Now I would be lucky just to see it again.
With you by my side, life was at a stand still.
We were a runaway car with no one at the wheel.
The light flashed green and we drove our separate ways.
Now all I do is sit back and count the days
That you race across my mind
Leaving all your ***** tracks behind.
Each and every memory stain,
That occupies my brain.
Your lips, your eyes, they haunt my dreams,
At least that’s what it seems.

The road that leads to nowhere
Must always begin somewhere
If I could get one last chance, I'd take it
Whether or not I would make it.
You were my headlights in the dark.
The vision is lost in my mind,
A mist that fades away,
To grey,
Then black,
Vision never comes back,
Like an elusive heartbeat,
Something you can only feel,
Is this all real?
You walk into my life like an open door,
Kick it wide open,
Surprise and exhilaration flow through,
Veins alive,
Heart pounding,
Turning violently in my chest with the sound of your voice,
Memories enthrall,
Mind explores and captivates,
Life like an earthquake, flipped upside down
Inside out,
Cracks form on the surface of reality,
Dismantling the truth,
Cannot do anything but wave goodbye,
The signs flash in your face.
EXIT.
What do you do?
When I look to you,
To fill a void in my heart,
You walk away,
Never turn back,
Without even a bye,
Every night you lie,
“I love you” and “Miss you”
These lies pour out of your mouth,
An endless river roaring across the land,
They never stop,
Never end.
I wore my heart on my sleeve,
Target practice,
Punctured,
Bleeding,
But still holding on strong,
The love is gone,
Ran away,
But you still stay,
Running through my mind,
Trip and fall,
See it all,
Blow away,
I reach my hand out,
Grasp,
Slip,
Crash.
Gone.
You see an opening and take it,
I see a wall and break it,
Life is a roaring river,
I want to be the fly on the wall,
Instead I drown in it all,
Reach out for security,
When all I see is obscurity,
Fight and pursue,
What is right for you.
