I fall down a flight of stairs
It is several decades long
My teeth fall out
My hair turns grey
I touch my face
And it has wrinkles deep as canyons
I look at my hands
They shake and the veins protrude
My frail bones break
I forget my name

I grow old
When I wake up
I am one night older
Tusseladd Feb 2014
I am fragile, don't
Look at me
Your gaze is like a drill,
Invasive and cruel

When your eyes bore into me
I feel forced to do
What is expected
Of me

For you (your stare which condemns me), I dance
On my broken legs
Bend my back until it
Cracks
The painted smile
On my painted mouth
Is the permanent ****** expression of
A contorted porcelain doll

Sometimes I feel like a sparrow
Without wings
I can reach the grains
On the ground
But I can't reach
The clouds

Sometimes I feel like an eagle
Whose wings
Have been cut off
I can see the distant mountains
But I can't reach
Their snowy peaks

On the ground
I hobble,
Crippled
Seeking substitutes
For sky
