Merry Christmas

The Things That Define Us

So much pain

So much love

So much joy

We have been to hell and back.  We have been up and down. We have found out how strong we are.  The things that define us are on the inside.  The iron will to survive.  The softness towards the innocents in this world.   The delight in all things wonderous.  Yes that is the life of our people.

Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother.
And my sister and my brother
Lo, there do I see the line of my people
Back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them
In the halls of Valhalla
Where the brave may live forever.

Never give up. Never give in. Never. Never.

Joy is your inheritance.  Strength is your inheritance.  Be joyful this Yule.  When the wild wind howls know that you are part of it!

Sous Attaque
From France my people came
From Bordeaux and from Avesnes
When 1700 was yet to know
It was a long long time ago
I have been called back there
Again and again
And love it so
And Paris has fed my soul my soul
My heart breaks
France attacked this way
The City of Lights under siege.

Hide the Children
Proponents of the plague
Henchman
Obedient cogs in the endless wheel
Blooddrunk money ******
We feel your oppressive ways
Your boot against our neck
Your hand in our pocket
Your lidless eye on us
Your lash upon our back
Your hunger to enslave the next generation

Amidst all This
My body cries
My mind rattles
Nations invade, they raid, they terrorize, mutilate, persecute
Where does the light of human conscience burn?

Goings On
9 old people in black robes
100 men and women and one man put them there
435 people fight tooth and nail

Oh Money Honey thats behind them all
Oh Money Honey faceless grasping sociopaths

With no paradigm to guide me
I am lost with no words to write
My Conscience is losing ground
My speech fades with the light
Forlorn Mistress of my soul
No pagan muse present
Each word, each phrase is wrung
From my minds contents
Fruits, breads, wild nuts, rare wines
On all of this I have dined
But later in the Night
I have eaten the Bitter bread of thought:
Battles fought out in the Sun
Battles waged in darkened rooms
Won before begun

Master Yourself
Survive yourself first
Discover your thirsts
Quench them but in quiet waters

Find the path among the twisted roots
Invent the peace that does not exist
Be your day

Molly
Never forgotten
Always alive
Here with me

I will not let even your passing
Be anything but a thing of beauty
As all of you was perfect

You are an angel now
Bright and shining as
Snow atop a Christmas tree

You rescued me over and over
Again
You will live as long as I

As long as my heart beats there you reside
The coolest friend
The warmest heart.
