I just want..
christine hoyt Jan 2012
Dear you,
I just want some
Thing that is stable
One hundred percent able
A book of non-fiction, not fable
Sturdy as an oak table
I want you to hold me down
Like a steel cable
To the ground
Without a sound
I just want you to be
Bound to my heart without a choice
I’ll give you my heart, I’ll give you my voice
I love
You will be the one I say
That I want to wake up to every day
The beat of your heart is the music I’ll play
My head on your chest is where I’ll
Lay down with you every night
Just one look in your eyes and a flame will ignite
Nothing can convince me we wont be alright
You are the fuel to the fire that I
Write down all the feelings you have inside
Show me the feelings that cant be denied
Lets make a love that cant divide
Just show me some love and I will
Provide you with anything you could ever need
All your expectations, I will exceed
Your emotions will be so easy to
Read the heart I wear on my sleeve
It’s easy to love me if you just believe
If you ask to get, you shall receive
If you promise to love me I will never
Leave your side, I promise this dear
All you have to do is lend me your ear
I want nothing more than to have you here
For all of my life, I want you
Near to my heart, near to my mind
I want this to last until the end of time
So just hear me out and listen to my rhyme
Here, true love is the only thing you’ll find
I just want, you.

sincerely, me.
I performed this as spoken word in Iraq, it's one of my favorites :)

Let's Make a Love..
christine hoyt Jan 2012
lets make a love out of our past,
lets make a love that is forced to last.
together we can make poetry;
I promise to never let you down,
I’ll never let you frown.
Together, we can make poetry;
A peom of smooth words, smooth verbs,
Stayin in a room together, do not disturb.
Together, we can make poetry;
So what do you say, Baby?
Don’t make me get down on one knee.
I just think that, together, we can make poetry;
I write a word, its your turn, then mine,
If we each think she’s a nickle, together she’s a dime.
you see? Together, we can make poetry.
In love with the words and the rhyme on a page,
If we share the same love why not let it out of its cage,
If we can make poetry, the whole world can change,
So, what do you say Baby?
Lets make poetry.

we resort to cussing  when the only repercussion

is our own fault from what we sin   but we feel within

that life would be too much   for us to change our touch

ask what we have on this earth   to better our worth

when it is our choice   how we use our voice

minimal thoughts make noise    serious ones cause poise

because we never chose to think   of why the ribbon is pink

the red cross resembles the sick   or why us humans were picked

to be the most knowledgeable in the world   we paint our life as a mural

when that thought alone is irrational;  we fail tests that are passable

we get confrontational   simple business operational

"I love you" feels sensational   but the words are migrational

Life was right here and you moved right passed her

and we wonder why in the hell that we have no answers

Once I get to writing...
christine hoyt Jan 2012
once I get to writing its impossible to stop
its like a dose of medicine I want but never got
all these thoughts up in my head need a way out
words on my paper tell you what my thoughts are all about
it’s a therapy like no other, its free and there is no pain
you can say anything you want, to that there is no shame
anyone will listen if you have a flow and rhyme
to show someone your thoughts, it only takes a bit of time
so listen to my word and the thoughts I have to show
because I bet there are some things about me that you have yet to know

How I'm Feeling
christine hoyt Jan 2012
Reminiscent thoughts of how it used to be
Not between you and me; But me, and me
The personal relation between me and self
Morals and patience once put on the shelf
Characteristics I had once acquired
Is now just another thing I admire
Longing for the trust I once encompassed
Within myself, for my goals to accomplish
I can’t find you, if I’m not me
But without you, I’m not complete
I need to get myself together or find you
So you can bring the cure for what is due
But if you wait until later I can’t place blame
I am the only one to blame for who I’ve became
Either way please meet me soon
Be my sunset, not just another afternoon
I’ll promise you all that’s deserved
I’ll promise you I will conserve
All that I need for you to say
That you will be mine and forever stay

— The End —
