Shields and shields of ice,

On every inch of your skin,

Hiding sin after sin,

Combining two losses for every single win,

Such shame to hold vice,

And to not renounce virtue,

Naively walk in to the lies you unconsiously pursue

Give in to what we all do,

Sense of happiness and control,

Over time your little charade depletes and gets old,

Presenting those smiles covered in gilded gold,

Only fools them,

But the face in the mirror always knows,

And I can always tell

That the look on your faces never cease to echo,

In the part of me that's less dark and less shallow,

You and I,

We  aren't so different,

We both wish you'd break and be yourself,

Prove to everyone that you are capable,

Let all that ice melt into the  cracked pavement,

Finally free you and I from this self-enslavement.
Given,
These words won’t come out right,
Might not make you smile,
Cry,
Or any of that emotional crap,
They might spill all onto your shirt,
Might leave a bad smell behind,
Might go unheard,
Might just be crumbled,
Ripped,
Sent flying into outer space.
Given,
The truth usually hurts more,
But I could never lie to you,
Give you any false hope,
Little lies to keep you warm at night,
To send you worriless on your way,
I’ve always hoped I wouldn’t feel this way,
Or feel at all,
More for your well-being than my own,
If you find these words harmless I’ll be surprised,
Nothing is more dangerous than the knowledge that there is someone out there that will always love you,
No matter your faults,
Flaws,
Past,
Imperfect perfection,
Hurtful words,
Scarred eyes,
Someone so in love with you they can never get there words out right.
Given,
Actions are more infinite than words.

Like Her
I want to be like your poetry.
Filled with your feelings,
Deepest emotions,
Running under your skin,
I want to be like the love you use to write about.
That one girl that had you completely,
Heart and soul,
Smiles and laughter,
I want to be like her.
Always in your head,
Your dreams,
Unwanted ecstasies woven deep,
Written on pages and pages,
I want to be indescribable.
Someone so profound,
No words can explain,
Yet somehow you do,
Find the right words to describe her,
Your love,
For her eyes, her smile, her love for you,
I want to be lasting,
Like your poetry,
Something worth thought,
worth sleepless nights.
