Untitled 2

What is life?
A storm,
Watching the tangled web we weave
like lightning in the sky
as our life flashes before us.
Then ends
With a great roll of thunder,
A great sigh of relief.

Love is
a vibrato
two identities working together
to create something beautiful
Music and man.
The first meeting tentative,
suddenly grows with intensity
understood by few
and held for as long as possible
Until finally it fades
into a smooth legato.

Death
the most indefinite of all.
Never final, only physically permanent.
Where only six feet of dirt
or an oven
separate you from alive.
But never final.
Memories never die.
Your state is simply shifted
and you have become.
Immortal.

I longed
for a sleep so deep
that forever more I can remain
in my dreamland.

I craved
the bite of metal against my skin
and the resulting crimson tide
that lets me know I'm still alive.

and when I could no longer bear the burden
of my own heartbeat
as it thumped against my chest so hard,
longing to jump out of my skin, it left a scar

I turned to you.

A Lost Love
Chelsea Grin Jan 2012
You are the life of me
You are the air I breathe
You took away everything
that was killing me.

You caught me as I fell
brought me back through the gates of Hell
before
I reached my end.

You kissed my ****** wrists
and instilled into my lips
The gift of love.
I've never seen any eyes the same shade of truth
as yours.

You studied my broken pieces
as I lay at your feet in ruins.
you snapped your fingers.
Never again will my heart or my tears
seep through your seamless work.

You won my hopeless war;
Tu no yo rompo, no mas sangre.
Mourir nunca mas.
Todo amor.

Sully
Chelsea Grin Jan 2012
If I am not with him,
Whenever that may be,
Thought I don't like to be away from him,
Because I love him so much,
I only get to see him on the weekends.

As long as I am with him,
Because he's so cute and full of energy,
As soon as I see him,
Although they're wet and sloppy,
I get lots of kisses from my sweet little dog Sully.
I wrote this in 7th grade about my baby Maltese dog Sully Monster. I had had a steady "boyfriend" for about 2 years, and I'll never forget the look on my classmates faces because they thought I was talking about my boyfriend. That is, until I got to the very last line. I'll always hold this poem very close to my heart because of that!

An Angel and a Demon
Chelsea Grin Jan 2012
She will be strong.
She will not cry.
It won't take long,
For her to die.

Her heart is tattered,
So young, but so worn.
Her body's battered,
But she'll be reborn.

Soon, very soon, the light will come,
To make her body and her heart whole.
Soon, very soon, the light will come,
To heal her broken soul.

He laughed in her face,
"How truly stupid you are.
You really are a disgrace."
And he slid into his car.

He left her for dead,
On that dark, lonely street.
Her vows of undying love echoed in his head.
His feelings all along were deceit.

Soon, very soon, the fire will come
To make him suffer her heart's fate.
Soon, very soon, the fire will come
To show him her rage and hate.

She was true to her heart.
Her intentions were pure.
They'd never be apart,
Of that she was sure.

He saw her one day,
She smiled so bright.
He'd have her his way,
If only for a night.

Soon, very soon, the light will come,
To take her home where she belongs.
Soon, very soon, the fire will come,
To make him suffer for all of his wrongs.
