If I could open my heart
and fill a rocketship with my feelings,
it'd explode on take off
and knock the stars off their hidden strings
and as they floated down to earth,
I'd give each and every one to you.

Your eyes would twinkle in delight
and you would remain happily speechless
as the galaxy fell around you
bursting with my love.

Moondust would add glitter to your shine
and sparks of sunshine
would light the sky,
like natural fireworks,
just to celebrate you in my life!
Quivering insecurities scuttle between her teeth
and a desire erupts
as each and every detail that articulates her life
flows through to him
and with this passage she receives a sense of belonging
a false guarantee that he will cherish
her flaws
and love her
endlessly.
I want to be in love.
I want to be with a guy
who doesn't care about the night,
he only wants to wake up with the sun,
holding, in his arms; hope.

I want this hope
to light up his face with a smile
and make his eyes sparkle,
make his heart yearn for more; passion.

I want this passion
to erupt within him so fierce
that I know there could never be
anything else; anyone else.
I wish you missed me like I miss you.
I wish you still regarded me as the sun to your earth;
light to your life.
I hope that one day you'll wake up and see
that what you've been missing all along is me.
It's not in the moments where we hold hands and skip
It's not in the moments where we hug and smile
It's not in the moments where we laugh like crazy
It's not in those moments that made me love you.

It's not in the moments where we make faces and wrestle
It's not in the moments where we cook when we can
It's not in the moments where we watch each others' favorite movies
It's not in those moments that made me love you.

It's not in the moments where we share our life stories
It's not in the moments where we get off topic on the phone
It's not in the moments where we miss our curfews
It's not in those moments that made me love you.

It's not in the moments where we call each other nicknames
It's not in the moments where we hold awkward conversations
It's not in the moments where we make plans for the future
It's not in those moments that made me love you.

*It's in those moments where lying together I can feel your heartbeat increase and race with mine, while our breathing matches up.  This lets me know that together we are one and being with me excites you as much as me being with you.
The sweet injection through two lips
a shock reacting through every bone
fluttering nerves slam the stomach
as cautious lips re-approach.

Overwhelming tension creates dewy beads of joy
cramping the heart in an hour of need
the soul left to bleed tears of want
as rapid, pulsing breaths heave.

Forbidden lips collided
after the reserpine from his eyes
the gliding of silky fingertips
over young and innocent thighs.
A skidding car sounds from my window
and quick feet scale the steps

Two short taps brush the wood
and our incomplete bodies embrace

Three fingers caress my cheek
and trembling lips skim my ear

Four words collide
"Baby let's run away"

Five sparkling tears escape my restless eyes
and his face lights up with hope

Six nods swaddle a smile
and hands clasp tightly

Seven seconds spent looking back
and as we drive away
*I know why I fell in love
Will you tell me that you love me?
And if you don't, please pretend
for the next couple hours
until we reach the end.

Because who would want to be alone
when the skies darken
and the world seizes
as we're taken away?

The lightning cracks punishment
and the birds quiet
none deserving of sweet songs
as we wait.
The pounding of hearts
echoes for ten feet
spinning thoughts
of love and pain.

"I love you"
"Please don't miss"

Sweat streams from every pore
slick fingers glide across the barrel.

"I can't live without you"
"I can't live"

Eyes blink rapidly
uneven breaths linger
regaining a clear conscience
a stomach unsteady; sour.

"I'm going to miss you"
"Please don't miss"

A numbing sensation controls all feeling
all movements become automatic.
The slightest twitch occurs
and a cascade of smoke quivers.

"I love you"
"I loved you too"

And in that second
all memories collide
the whispers and laughs
the kisses and cries.

And all that he has left
is a cold revolver
a broken heart
and a limp, lifeless, love.
The heat of the pavement
burns passion through my soul
and quickly the rain comes
and the storm within the sky
translates between you and I.

I crash like thunder and you
strike like lightning
and all of our yearning
is heaved out of our bodies
drop after drop
we come together.
We inspire movies,
in this life that we lead.
The adventures we love,
characters in books that one reads.

The wind carries our worries,
as our imaginations roam free.
My heart bursting with joy,
the sky open with laughter.
Cheers to this life,
may we live happily ever after!
You're the perfect drug
every whiff of you gets me high.
Intoxicating fumes seep through my skin
tugging at my veins
and painting my world blue.

Just looking at you flips my life upside-down.
Ridiculous fantasies zig-zag my eyes
gluing you into every cardboard scene.
Just the wanting, needing, kissing and breathing.
Our lives swirl from black and white
to a pasty gray.

So they say "You had me at hello"
but it's not what hello can bring.
Your voice flips a switch and suddenly
memories flood my ears
teasing and tickling
suffocating every other thought.

What can I say?
You're the perfect drug
and being around you
just takes me away.
