The Atrium
Chad Kerner Jun 2013
Setting, it provides the mood for any occasion.
the view of our city, an atrium of sorts that grows our inhibitions to a height of expression.
Bonding loose sand and and suppressed emotions into a compressed conglomerate of realization.
It brings the out the worst in a person but conversation converts fear into hope and we all tremble at the thunder of a persons first realization of their full potential.

Dream on
Chad Kerner Nov 2011
It hit me harder than a freight train, so overwhelmed I forget to breathe. My eyes open up.
The clouds have a glaze that for lack of a better word I must call heavenly. they expand and overlap to the end of the earth like a highway for our intellectual being. The sun is protruding but just in a slit. The bugs will crawl, don't forget they exist. I'm at one with the rocks, cactus and trees. Each cactus has eyes visible from far away. Black and purple with an LED tint. The cactus army surrounds us with their many sets of arms and agrees upon our passage. Stratus clouds to the west open up in 3D, a spiral wave leads into a tunnel. If you want to know what's on the other side you've got to go up there. The taste in my mouth is a little hard to stand. Water, i drink it down. A fifteen minute pow wow. The people were laughing, some had bikes. The bugs keep on moving and this stick is so **** soft. The clouds dance to the music just as fast as clouds can while we all worship the sun. The trees became mobile; visiting other homes as if time were elapsed Millions of years condensed into a matter of seconds. The clouds aren't the same. The bugs take a break from crawling i can hear them all laugh. I remember i can stand, stand so tall there's a world behind us, beyond that rocky wall. It's similar but different. The clouds are not the same.

An angel transposed as a being. So innocent. Always staying far from corruption.

she traded teddy bears for a bible and holds it just as tight.

They say if you believe something with all your heart that it must be true.

I believe God sent her down from a glorious height along with other angels; who with their broken wings teach others how to fly.

She has morally stimulated thighs that stimulate my mind and an inner beauty that fans out from her lonesome eyes

to her freckled cheeks all the way down to her partially chapped lips that are

softer

than

mine

God has to exist because i've never felt more faith in one hug.
Purity is her truth.
She's an angel for not falling into American youth.

Embrace pain

Not a good person

Hate without knowing, jealousy is the gift of the inferior

Self loathing, low confidence: self improvement

Love without reciprocation

All alone

Going crazy

Empty shells grow pearls over time

Your scars are beautiful

Suicide

Made to be strong

Frosted windows

I don't know what you have to give but like an army ranger i'm ready for what's in store.
i've got this cold feeling that you've got me on my knees. Bruised and battered begging for more.
In the winter snow i feel at home, your cold shoulder underneath my open arms.
Here take my jacket. what's mine is yours and what is ours… it grows.
like the flake of snow gently melting on your upper lip my feeling is unique.
the original copy in the museum of cold feet.

Brown eyes deeper than an offshore rift tell the story without a spoken word.
A story of hard times and hard people trekking through the snow.
When summer comes, we all melt away.

If you ever feel alone, don't be because i'm alone as well, stuck like glue
and I'm always coming back home to you

Kick push.

Dig your toes in
your heels too.
lean in to prevent your fall.

90% commitment
10% being ready to die.

Repetition is the instrument that pounds out talent to rise above the sky.

Jar of Hope
Chad Kerner Nov 2011
I remember when the sun grew gardens inside my heart.
I formed the land and put my all into growing.

But the trees don't grow if the rain doesn't fall.
so i grew up always hoping
sometimes praying
for rain.

Rains came and some plants would blossom so beautifully while others would drown.
I always wondered if the plant had given up or if it was just a bad seed.

I've seen many droughts.
I determined it's the seed.

My first love was a bean sprout.
just out of the soil barely opening up its leaves.
I swore an oath that day that i'd keep it from the weeds.

The harvest came and my love had died.

I saved every seed of the first plant i ever grew and every year i plant one.

My love lives on through you, young cotyledon.
