The Work of a Knife
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
Whispering winds
Shallow lines

Curved in simplicity
Engraved with agony

Gasping for air
Hidden beneath

Covered by shame
Coated by society

They scream
Together cry out

Some, selfless and true
Question
They ask her
What could cause my existence

She diverts attention
Hiding tears and truth

I need an end
I need bounderies

Block me
Stray away

I am no friend
Only pain

Step back
Think

Have a Heart
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
"Pull over, let's help him"
"Mum please!"
Plead two children

The mother continues
Driving an illogical speed for the city

Shaking her head
"We can't, we're late"
"And we have nothing to give"
Lies to her children

If she has nothing
Yet drives that car
Takes her children home,
to that house

Then what about the man
What does he posess

If money is nothing
Then what is something?
Happiness?

Does he look happy?
Hungry, tired, alone
Shivering in the cold

She carries on
So does he
Through ceaseless streets
And the pattern of life

Wakeup, look out
Help

A Story
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
He picks up the glass
again
Not a cup,
no
Piercing shards

Remainders of the night
Evidence of affliction

Tossed away
Once Again

To be forgotten
Till tomorrow

He feels the injustice
He's aware of its presence

Never taught to run
Never taught to speak

He stays, basking in his pain
In loneliness he cries,
in neglect he wipes his own tears;
Pats his own back,
using a conforting tone, reassures himself
Saying, everything's gonna be alright

His life is agony
His time is short

He will depart, soon
In a pursuit of a better world

Never to have a relationship
Only a love

She'll drive him through boulders
Cause his head to throb

Burn his wallet
like a lighter and gasoline

She'll put him to asleep
He'll make her keep him awake

She'll take him down that road
He'll depart her, and the rest of the world

They caused this,
She'll be to the blame

They could plead 5th
She can be scorned

Never did they see
Never did they look

What's to find when not searching
They'll continue their life

Their son won't
He has left them, for something they never knew how to provide
Compassion
They heard the word, even experienced the word, but never provided it

Their greatest posssesion is now gone
because they lost sight of their true priorities

They will never know
He never knew

An endless riddle
Look at yourself.
And Solve.

An Ending Night
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
Twisting shadows
Surround the palace

Causing a haunting aura
Keeping guests on their toes

Ready to sprint,
at any advancing move

Wine is served

The waitors sudden movements cause the light of heart to flinch

Music is playing
Harpists strumming

Nerves are calmed
As the night progresses,

The past is forgotten,
Intoxication is bliss

A guest is refused another glass
An uprising evolves

Shadows and dignity forgotten
a fight emerges on the crowded floor

Delightment surrounds the halls
Excitement is in the faces of servailers

First bruises
Now blood

The opponent backs away
Streaming tears

The opponent is led to safety.
The inflictor, pushed down.

Muscians attempt to uplift the disturbed
But sweet songs prove frivilous to the matter

Some walk out
too much of a night

Carridges swerve and crash,
A result of drunk choffers

Most make it home
But some die in pleasure...

Making Peace With Oneself
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
I stare at the walls,
With pleading eyes
Prayin that one day,
they'll scream out the answer

one day i'll sleep
One day i'll be calm
One day
Some day

Soon, I hope,
I beg

I need the answer
I need the cause
I am dying
Fading away

It's only a matter of time until I waste away
We all know it
There's no use denying,
hiding from the truth,
The reality

I have been pushed to the edge
And now I must fall off

I resist
I grasp onto the small bit of faith that hasn't left me yet
It's what's keeping me alive
It's all that's left of me
all that I am

I refuse to let my faith go
I cannot bear to see it leave
I must survive,
hold on;
One more day,
For the rest of my life

I will keep my head up
Face this world head on

I will survive.

Somehow.

Entering Unwantedness
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
Sullen stares lighting the way
Passing through this great abyss

Dreaming away
Losing control

Gaining doubt
My mind has gone
Leaving me here:
Stranded

I see the end
I do not stop;
desperate for closing

This is not what the world has done to me

But rather, what i have accepted from it

Do not follow me:
Off this cliff

Take the other way:
Reverse

See the hope, The chance

All that awaits you

Live your life
Don't look back

I have not seen hope
Much too long

I am done, finished
and incomplete

Emptiness is looming above
Haunting me with the hunger for more

My attentiveness, I have lost

I no longer see where my hope is

It must be out there
But who knows

Not I

Ability to trust: The key to faith, friendship, and success,
has failed me now

Completely and fully going against itself

Untrustworthy trust

Pure irony
Full truth

Nothing is as it seems

I no longer beg for justice
I have found I'm scared of the meaning

Let alone, what it truly amounts to

A Tree, or Man, Alone
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
The tree that stood alone
Its wounded branches hung-
When spring, a happy time
Came swerving round the bend
The tree stood still
It whispered not
And stood to stand alone

It died that coming fall
Memoirs- they came to haunt
It stood -and still
Hung glooming
Because of lonely past

Its life had flown away
But left the saddened corpse
Where which it stood to stand
Away, beneath, alone

Now day and years alike
Have passed the saddened corpse
Life and ways have changed
But still, the corpse remain
Its long since rotted down
But still-
It is alone.

Stranded
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
A final blow
It ceased the noise
Sent ripples through the calmness

It sent away
What could have been
But ne'er had chance to happen

Now endless nights
And many a drink
Have led to only heartaches

Echos, they ring
Cries, they sing
But sorrow is incognizant

Ceaseless murmers
They'll never silence
They haunt my restless sleep

They have no heart
No soul, no feelings
They'll gain no pleasure greater

That's when I fade
Out, and away
Cast into the shadows of life

The mental zodiac
Infecting the mind
Burning it up with toil

Work and wonder
Mix, twist, plunge
Down and in through darkness

Brown and green
Blended with red
Sepia bleeds throughout

Now drowned in blue

Colors blend
Feelings mingle

Equivalents were hidden
Now dug up, resurfaced

Brought into life
Once again

Winds meet
Clouds part

Opening chance

What never had grace to pardon
Has now cleared the air

I can see
What left a hole
A gap in deep dark valleys

Now left alone
I wander the world
Stranded within the forest

Gone
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
Shattered glass and troubled winds Fear maintains persistence

Hysteria, muted
Alone, and rebutted
Latching onto resistance

Desperate, for fun
Out goes my heart;
Here I am, pint of ***

The night has yet been dark
The mood is nothing, but dreary
Our lives have only begun

Patient hearts have untrue intentions
Acceptence, for only a night of pleasure

Shadows hide a past of gloom and spite
Morning creeps, and souls, they scramble beneath

The poor, the lonely unwanted soul;
They see no clear reality

They roam helpless and scarred
They are indubitably unsure

We are here
Gone

The Silent Bench
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
The eyes of tearful past
Gaze upward, past small faces

I watch him
He begins to rise himself
Off the coldhearted bench
Gazing through the distance

Thoughts reoccur in his fading mind
He lays back down

Roaming, helpless and scarred
He lost himself in fear, and that alone

Links of steal and agony
They fall beneath earth's eye

What's left alone to pity
Has nothing, than to die

Tears of saddened hearts,
They are, but a target

The world, they are the darts
Piercing happiness, in the eye

He grazes, in weathered grass
Throughout a darkened tranceless state

Left to gather thoughts
Expected sadness, on the contrary

He is dead to the world
What are you

Dying Soul
Catie Blurr Jun 2010
Blissful agony
Beautiful pain

Taking over the soul
Of an innocent life

They may have lived
Instead they stare

Engraved with identity
Lost within a path

Forgotten though time
Pondered daily

A dying glow
A quenching glass

Biterness so sweet
On such a day

— The End —
