A small boy stood against the face of a mountain
Seeing the other children hoist hills and hurl them great distances, he dreamed of hoisting the mountain
Each day he set his hands under the mountain and attempted to lift
Each day the children laughed at him as the mountain consumed him and flung him back
Each day he acquired a new scar, broadcasting his failure
With his failure fresh and his rage uncontrollable, he charged the mountain
The mountain only flung the boy longer, and the children only laughed harder
Totally dumbfounded, the only thing he could do was respect the mountain
Every day he studied it
Every day he reflected on it
Every day he tended to it
And now engulfed in serenity he approached it
The boy greeted the mountain as his hands assumed the position of familiar failure
And with perfect form the man hoisted the mountain and hurled it to the ends of the world
The children were dumbfounded
Seeing his achievement, they all charged blindly into the mountains
The man chuckled lightly as he walked away

Hope rekindled by the smile on your face
A feeling of purpose and security forms just as the angle of my smile matches yours
And now a hug with the arms of eternity around my back
Fleeting glimpses of the man I could be with you at my side
I exhale as our arms pull away, bringing me back to reality
A quick gaze in your eyes
Searching for a sign you feel the same way
Nothing found but my reflection in your pupils
A foolish mistake
It is not your eyes, but your smile that says it all

Ever since they met, he's craved deep in his stomach to hear those words
words heard so many times before though their potency is never lacking

as he greets her the craving builds up - working its way to his ever increasingly beating heart

He lays eyes on her and his pupils dilate
the event horizon of blackness expands ever so quickly in his eyes

the hairs on his body tingle as the opened door lets in the cool air

she draws closer as his body prepares for the familiar yet indescribable rush

as her mouth moves, ripples of sound begin to penetrate the soft tissue of his eardrum

"I"

he hears as the sound bounces its way to the second ear
he has come to the realization that his craving will soon be satiated - at least for a moment

"love"

the word flutters through his mind; a butterfly which he finally captures at long last

"you"

the moment he's been waiting for, the realization of his temporary high now completed

the pieced together words rip through him like a shock-wave
easing the craving in his stomach while super-charging his already galloping heart

a moment passes as he returns to normal

he turns a smile to her and says,

"I love you too" - satisfying her craving as well

The bottom of the world is a pretty humbling place
I am not a resident, but a frequent visitor
every now and then I make my decent
sometimes i get there faster than others
All of the residents keep to themselves
This makes me lonely sometimes
The quality of sleep is fantastic though
It grows on you very quickly and you don't want to leave
but we must always depart sooner or later
and brave the world once more
thinking we're too invincible
too smart
too special
too rich
too good-looking
to hit rock bottom again

the kid with the world in his backpack was very smart
his parents loved him very much
every morning they put the world in his backpack and sent him to school
This was cumbersome for the little one, but his legs grew strong fast
he made sure to keep his balance, as a wrong step could turn fatal
every day the world grew heavier
every day his legs grew stronger
he grew so strong he could jump with the world in his backpack
one day he gathered everyone he knew to witness how high he could jump
he compressed his legs and sprung towards the heavens
the world became unfastened by the jump
the child fell to his stomach upon landing
the world, now free-fall was so large
and his back so fragile
the child didn't even scream
as his back shattered into oblivion
