Another One Bites The Dust
Caitlin McLimans Jan 2016
You hold me as the light leaves my eyes.
I reach up
You think I'm reaching for you.
Why would I reach for the one who slew me?
You grab my hand
Stop me from reaching the light
You always seem to stop me.
I would rather have died alone
But as always
You are here.
Your eyes taunt me in my final moments.
Those shining blues
Full of malice and life
Even as mine fade
Your eyes dance.
Teasing.
I hate you.
I'll see you in hell
And I won't stop to say hello.

Contra Mundum
Caitlin McLimans Nov 2015
Ever feel like the world’s against you?
Like you just can’t win?
Well you can’t.
You never will truly win.
There’s always a downfall
a condition
a but
an and
an or else.
The world isn’t fair.
We all know that.
So spare our minds and our ears.
Stop your petulant whining.

Null
Caitlin McLimans Nov 2015
Whispers in the dark
silence has replaced all the laughter
everyone has left
so you should also leave me here,
forsaken..
Let life pass me by
without a care.

Shut out the lights, I beg of you.
You do not deserve to see
the emptiness that consumes me.

Close all of these doors.
No one may enter.
The person you thought you knew
is no longer here.

Lock all of the windows,
wide and gaping like the wounds
which others have left in my skin.
This dark airlessness is my cage, and although I have no wish to leave,
this is still hell.

Block out these worldly sounds
Pass me by.
Leave me where the dark is dull,
and where I once heard music,
but now the space is null.

Shadows
Caitlin McLimans Nov 2015
Vengeance is a bittersweet thing
It is addictive
Destructive
Like cigarettes.
At first, it makes you seem mysterious and intriguing.
Then it twists you into a shadow of yourself,
It consumes you
And draws you into its vicious cycle of never having enough.
You become centered on that one thing
You scheme and plot as to how you’ll get your way
To show everyone who’s the winner
And you push everyone who ever cared about you, away.
And when push comes to shove
When you slip up or go too far
“What happened to the one I knew before?”
Is what everyone will be wondering,
As they watch your casket being lowered into the ground.
