My Best Friend
Caitlin Hooker Dec 2010
I don't know how i became privileged like no other

To have a friend like you to call my brother.

You're someone I can tell my secrets to,

And no one keeps them as well as you.

Not only do I get to call you mine,

But our friendship is doing fine.

I hope we by one another's sides

Even if I have to go on one of those long bike rides.

You have always been someone to go to

While you help me get through.

Not only do you turn my sorrow into joy,

I'm not treated like your toy.

I don't know how I became privileged like no other

To have a friend like you to call my brother.

Tears
Caitlin Hooker Dec 2010
Here's a tear I shed for you.

I hope you keep it safe and true.

I cry for you day and night

Hoping to make everything right.

I openly gave you my heart

Not knowing that we'd ever part.

Maybe we'll find one day

A chance to go back to the old way.

I don't want us to become a love affair

For that would mean we didn't care.

Here's a tear I shed for you.

I hope you keep it safe and true.

Teen Life
Caitlin Hooker Dec 2010
We all go through it time to time
Trying to go through live making it a rhyme.
Even if we don't know what it means,
Our situations are made into big scenes.
We need our friends to help get us through
And that is why I'm grateful to have you.
You may not know what I'm about to say,
But the thought of our friendship gets me through my day.
Being teens, we go through all this drama
That we just can't save for our mama.
People always come and go
But only some will truly know
How great of a friend you can be
So they give you to the world to be free.
When that happened, you came into my life
And we went on without strife.
I love the moment we came together
And I hope our friendship will last forever.

Life in a Bubble
Caitlin Hooker Dec 2010
I look in the mirror just to say
I am looking forward to another day.
I laugh and cry,
But I am not sure why.
Can you see through me?
I just want to be free!
I live in a bubble
Filled with all this trouble
I want to get this through,
*I still love you!

Who Am I
Caitlin Hooker Dec 2010
Many ask the question
"Who am I?" but never look for the answer.
Few fulfill their quest in the end.
**Will I ever find our who I am?

He is Always There
Caitlin Hooker Dec 2010
She was falling.
Falling to defeat by all her worries and troubles.
She was being consumed by the world.
She was alone and scared.
(She had been calling for help but didn't seem to want it.)
She, about to be completely consumed, gave out one more cry.
A man came to help her out.
He held her close to his chest and whispered:
"I was always there for you.
You just truly needed me in order for me to help."
She started to weep and embraced herself in His arms.
With Him she knew she was safe.
And through His guidance, she got her life straightened out.
