Good morning
Cadence Pigeon Mar 2012
They are awoken before dawn.
Their only desire is to lay dead a little bit longer
None the less they awaken and are fed.
Their movements dull and their faces lifeless
These drones of society move out into the darkness,
Making no contact as they drag their almost lifeless bodies through the streets.
As they approach their destination, they only have one thing in mind
To crawl back into their dark warm caves and fall back into a mindless sleep.
Standing out in the bitter cold they see lights coming and going.
The lights they are waiting for arrives quickly and they find their seats.
It promises them warmth and security but delivers them to the dreadful place all too soon.
As they arrive, these teenage zombies loathe what is awaiting them past the double doors.
Through the halls they stare at their peers dressed exactly alike,
They trudge on with no sense of urgencey.
Then the bell urges them off into their own private nightmares
The high school students have arrived.
This was written by me (Cadence Pigeon) when I first started grade 9. Think back to your teenage years and how hard it was to get out of bed in the morning and make it through the day sometimes.
