Ocean's Waves
Bryce Grunow Nov 2013
Ebb and flow
Push and strain.
Hidden thought and small pain.
Exchange.
For one who is close, who you just suppose
Is worth keeping hidden.
Taking the time
Finding the rhyme.
To the reason.
The reason we push and strain
Why we cannot refrain
From cultivating this small seed
Idea
Love.

Your Strength
Bryce Grunow Jul 2013
I am but a boy,
who became a man.
And for every day I lived as myself,
I grew into something more.
Until I was more than I ever was before.
I lived a life's journey in 15 years,
Through every stone and sneer.
I have a strength that was always my own,
Yet it is a power we have all known.
I am strong with this power, as strong as your most powerful moment.
With this power I was there when You were hurt.
You with a capitol, because you are just as important as I.
With this power I felt your pain,
How you hated yourself.
You cut.
You starved.
You did your best to DESTROY yourself. To erase yourself. To... ****... yourself.
And you...

you...

you are still here.
YOU beat back depression.
YOU in all capitols because you are strong like I.
YOU took the talons of depression, hate, unhappiness, and you ripped them out,
One by one,
Each one took their tole, a piece of your beautiful soul.
But they left room to grow, to re-learn, and know,
Happiness, Peace, Joy.
You fought tooth and nail, you felt the pain like me, you gave all you WERE like ME, YOU sought FREEDOM from THE DARK like ME, YOU GAINED EVERY OUNCE OF POWER YOU HAVE NOW.
YOU gained it in saving yourself.
As I did the same.
Thats how I know I was there, along with everyone else like us.
I felt your power, Your strength, all your own, yet similar.
That strength... I admire it.
Never lose it, and I will never lose mine.
I love you, as a sister or brother.
For this strength we share.

Conscious Destruction
Bryce Grunow Jun 2013
Life, so fragile a thing.
Wasted, life through careless indecision.
Gifts, wasted through silence.
Do you not see?
There is a curse to humanity.
Consciousness brought through evolution,
New power to triumph, a revolution,
Power and bonds break, dissolution.
Our own inability to save that which we rely upon.
Because of our own ability to ignore all we must see.
Your consciousness, could easily be the end,
Of me.

Eloquence
Bryce Grunow Jun 2013
Sorrow has always captured my attention,
Tradegy framed in a single face,
A tear, all memories refracted from a single point.
Depression is always elegance in action,
Movement of one stage of a persons true grey,
To the next lightest color.
Color, not shade.
For we can all learn to interpret the grey.
But when that persons face brightens?
Their light is a stark display,
Deep indigo dances with flaming scarlet,
True cobalt blue swims alongside sky blue, yellow dawns a new era of verdant green.
All because of one small tear-shaped prism of refraction.
All shades of joy, frenzies of different shades dancing in one picture.
Shades, because all we knew was grey.
But joy... subsides. We all know this true, fortunately.
Without this, we would never see the beauty of grey.
That which is true rock bottom, Untainted by the scarlet of anger, the yellow of joy.
No, the pure single eloquence of sorrow.

Relevance, in the end, is a word made up by the human mind.
Bryce Grunow Jun 2013
I try. You try.
We all take a chance.
He got a girl, and she is going to the dance.
I tried, You tried.
To get an advance.
She got the job, and He got the chance.
I will try. She tried. He tries. You try.
She got a job. He got the girl. You get the chance.
I failed.
But I fell forward, I stood up.
You ran down, and couldn't stand.
Do you understand? It's as much as a will, and more than a way,
I will live ALL and EVERY day.
I fell forward, amd I ran down, But I learned that together,
I kept my feet on the ground.

Interest
Bryce Grunow Jun 2013
Interest is... for lack of better words, interesting.
People feel validated through interest.
Interest means your important, right?
Or is there something more?
New things are so interesting, they have never been done before.
Never seen, it means there is so much more.
Unless its the same gimmick, just done a new way.
I have interests.
I am interested in what makes me happy. Not what is new.
Because that which  is new,
why it could end up hurting me.

Too Dark
Bryce Grunow Jun 2013
Faster, faster through the dark, through the night.
So dark that vertigo hits,
I lose my feet,
There is rock all but in front.
Where has my beacon gone,
Has it fled from sight?
Why would it leave me on such a night.
I stand and move, i will always improve,
But i can't,
To move forth is too difficult,
I fall to the side,
Rock splits my skull,
A ships great hull, all is lost.
To focus is to hurt,
To let go, drown in  the mirk.
