Braxton Bragg Apr 2017
Capillaries dilate;
Natural amphetamines soar;
When the dark of night takes over;
I am not afraid anymore;
Amidst the starlit chill;
Feeling your beating heart;
There is hope once more;
When everything’s falling apart;
The hour draws late;
As you drift off to sleep;
I will die for you, my dear;
That’s a promise I can keep;
For the sun will rise tomorrow;
The light shimmering in your eyes;
Longing for a few more minutes;
Until we say our goodbyes.
Braxton Bragg Apr 2017
Bashfulness is nothing anymore;
Wishing to scream, unequivocally and explicitly;
To be hushed as an infant is extinguishing;
However, creates disdain and inner-rage;
Gripping vocal cords into a vice;
Squelching naught but air;
But because the future must be concurrent with action;
The tongue is held;
The urge is unsettling;
To deluge others with sense;
Empathy had perished amid these forceful thoughts;
Lust to prove others wrong remains;
…Why can’t I speak?
