Borrowed time.
Brandon Morris Aug 2018
So let's get lost in another time,
no worries,
no direction,
just us
in our own reflection.
Hold my hand,
as I will yours,
let our feet roam,
forever,
welcome home.
Brilliance,
all around us,
incomprehensible,
let us ponder,
all of these mysteries,
slowly,
as we wander.
A single moment,
is all it takes,
gone,
everything that was perfect,
until,
the new dawn.
Hold my hand,
'cause tomorrow,
is but borrowed time,
as yesterday,
was long ago.
My fingers,
they reach out,
to grab hold,
nothing,
just,
cold.

First Love
Brandon Morris Aug 2018
Scream into my soul,
leave a fissure in my chest,
take what you want,
leave your imprint,
claim me.
Just wait,
let me show you,
I'm not just a waste of space,
in your grace,
I am higher,
higher,
than even that,
of the greatest of heavens.
So go ahead,
engross,
all of my being,
for I am yours.
so long,
as you never,
ever leave.
So scream,
to my hearts content.
Bored, in a writing mood. sorry lol.

Believe
Brandon Morris Aug 2018
Believe.
Believe that,
no matter the situation,
circumstance,
there is always,
light at the end.
Believe.
Believe that,
no matter the situation,
circumstance,
there is hope.
Believe.
Believe that,
no matter the situation,
circumstance,
your words,
heal others.
Believe.
For belief,
is all we have,
to share,
to hold onto,
to sprout,
into new beginnings.
Believe.
Believe in,
cherishing each,
and every moment,
for a moment,
is all we have,
as long as we just,
Believe.
Just believe.

Singularity
Brandon Morris Jul 2016
Everything in me,
Everything in you,
Forever unfolding,
Uncharted destinations.

Angels cheerful,
Demons hateful,
Our love,
Ascending.

Reach in,
Take what you need,
As I am you,
And yours,
Is indeed mine.

Standing,
Afraid,
But ne'er alone,
For together,
We are,
But one.

Transparent,
Is our love,
But yet,
Here we are,
Intricately designed,
As we will always be,
But one being.

Behind the veil
Brandon Morris Jun 2016
In the blink of an eye,
The world can cease.
Woe to you,
As you hear the people cry.
Wishing heaven,
And inviting hell,
What remains,
As we lift the veil?
Broken and ashamed,
Of who we are,
Lower your sleeve,
To cover that scar.
What we are,
Is not who we'll be.
Finding a purpose,
In lifting the frail,
Who can we be?
Tomorrow will tell.

Puppeteers
Brandon Morris Jun 2016
Synchronicity,
falling together,
such duplicity,
leading each other.
For when,
do we understand,
where our heart-strings begin,
under the rhythm of life perhaps?
How far shall we take this mindless game,
until we feel the world collapse?
Systematically,
we await others,
to give us an analogy,
to the greatest of all the wonders.
We feast upon pride,
boasting,
of our accomplishments worldwide.
Let us live for tomorrow,
and not seeing each other,
as a mere puppet show.
Mortality is in play,
there is a piece in all of us,
that wishes to break away,
instead of bringing,
total and complete,
dismay.

following dreams
Brandon Morris Jun 2016
Time flies,
As an eagle soaring through the sky,
Take your wings,
And learn to fly.
Life is too short,
To not follow your dreams,
Walk with me,
As we wade through these streams,
On the pillars of eternity,
Look to the great wonders,
And find serenity.

polar
Brandon Morris Jun 2016
A beautiful life,
For all of us,
Is what we expect.
Dull, painless moments,
What's the fun in that?
A life without sorrow,
A life without worry,
A life we couldn't love to the fullest.
To enjoy life,
To it's fullest potential,
We need the polar opposites.
For without hate,
We don't truly understand love,
Without sorrow,
We can't appreciate true happiness,
Without worry,
We wouldn't know the meaning of faith,
Without pain,
We wouldn't have pleasure.
Even in the darkest moments,
We have a small,
Peculiar light,
And in this light,
We will find,
The true beauty in life.

heart felt love
Brandon Morris Jun 2016
Love is all,
Love is it,
Take my heart,
Bit by bit,
Cherish the blessing,
Hold it strong.
Beloved one,
What am I,
To be without you,
My life is a lie,
For without you,
I'm surely a knot,
That can not untie.
My one true fault,
Is not who I've become,
But who I will be,
If I dare not succumb.
Embrace this love,
For what it is,
Because simplicity is who I am,
And complexity,
Is what I ****.
Love is love,
No matter the person,
The ones without,
Will indefinitely worsen.
Take hold of my strength,
Hold on tightly,
Remember Your struggle,
And recite it nightly

secrets
Brandon Morris Jun 2016
I have a secret,
That no one knows,
I have a secret,
Lets see how it unfolds,
I have a secret,
Should I tell anyone?
I had a secret,
My friends are all gone,
I had a secret,
I let it slip to someone,
We had a secret,
But they couldn't keep it,
We had a secret,
Eating at us bit by bit,
I had a secret,
Feeling like our friendship was something,
When they knew my secret,
It wasn't long,
Until I had nothing.
People learn this the hard way.

Tasting beauty
Brandon Morris Jun 2016
Dear beautiful sunrise,
Oh how I would love,
To taste with the eyes.
Indulge in your beauty,
And fill my stomach,
With all of your purity,
Your rays casting down,
From over the trees,
And carried along,
By the oceans breeze,
Just witnessing a glimpse,
Would surely bring,
A grown man to his knees.
Oh how intoxicating it would be,
To taste what the eye could see

Lovers
Brandon Morris Jun 2016
If our love lifted us up,
I would always be in the skies,
If our love wasn't real,
We'd have already said our goodbyes,
If our love was a game,
I'd have the highest score,
If our love was a battle,
I'd have already won the war,
If our love was a drug,
I'd be the highest of highs,
If our love was honesty,
There would be no lies,
If our love was lost,
I'd give everything for it back,
No matter what the cost,
If our love was happiness,
We'd have no sorrow,
If our love was today,
We'd love like no tomorrow.

Thoughts
Brandon Morris Jun 2016
Seeming like everything is perfectly okay on the outside, our minds twist and contorts on the inside.
When all else fails, count back from 10, people say, take deep breathes.
But, how can you tell a person who is literally drowning, to breathe?
In ways, our thoughts are like water, it's fine to wade in them for a little bit, but go too far out and you'll start sinking.
All it takes is for one thought, just one, and it will forever drown you.
Engulfed in thoughts is just as horrible of an experience as falling into a bottomless pit.
Thoughts are devastating, no matter what anyone tells us, its just as hard to forget as it is to remember.
All of your biggest failures and fears, although unknown to anyone else, exists in here.
It's like a chain reaction from a bomb, it starts as a miniscule flame, then builds up to a great explosion, that before you know it, takes hold of you and leaves you feeling immobilized.
Each and every day, it becomes more of a challenge, to hide all of your dreams and aspirations.
Afraid of being criticized, judged, and held accountable for all the wrongs you may set in motion while fulfilling your innermost desires.
Thankfully, our loved ones are there, sometimes not physically, but emotionally, no matter the distance or circumstance, holding a rope for us to grab onto when we go too deep, and for this reason alone, we can safely swim in the depths of our thoughts without fear of drowning.
