we tint our lips the bleeding red of broken hearts
rouge our cheeks &
scar ourselves with the burnt-black ashes of animal bones
we paint each-others faces with the war-paint of our generation--
adorn our hair with feathers
our hearts with chain metal
and our girlish dreams and expectations with
armor and the arms of one another
because when we wake
the war drums of this night {and our hearts} will be silenced
like the quiet of a strangers house
when the ashes of brilliant fireworks
have settled on tiled roofs
the moans of our prey will be still--
we will wake and creep from their sides
and find each-other  in the sleeping battle field
strewn with our enemies
& walk
hand in hand away from the soulless slumbering masses
your lips drip blood of broken promises from the undeserving, of hearts devoured
and mine are singed and cut from the flames a hundred sips of firewater, heated words shouted and glasses thrown
we will wake and walk away
and be pretty girls in sundresses again
about a "fabulous" fourth of july

Everybody has that best friend
The one of the opposite gender
They're cute, funny, flirty
Being with them feels like home
Its just so right, ya know?
Always at ease
Switching back and forth
Between the trivial and the important
The happiness and the sadness
That person that you hold while they cry
And chase after while they scream with laughter
About some stupid thing they did to annoy you
Knowing full well it wasn't annoying
It was wonderful

Everyone has that friend
The friend that just fits
I happen to be in love with mine
She doesn't feel the same.

I like that you like dragons
and that you can cook
and bake
(cheesecake, especially)
I want to kiss you and hold your hand
and go sky diving with you
the day I turn 18
I want to show you all of my favorite places
and see all of yours
I want to sing for you
and play all the lovey-dovey songs
I know on my ukulele.
I like that your favorite number is mine divided by 7
and that me + you would equal two
I want to lie with you in a meadow
under the clouds and the sky
and point out all the silly shapes
like millions have done before us
then flip over and watch the grass grow
I want to introduce you to Almond Joy
You make me feel silly
and giddy
Like I've spun for way too long
and then suddenly stopped
while the world keeps rushing around in fits of color
You make by heart beat fast and pound at my ribs
You make me feel like how I haven't felt in a long while
You make me blush - and I don't usually blush
I smile every time I think of you.
I really, really like you.
A lot.
:]

All I ever wanted was to feel the bliss of nothingness on my shoulders
and at last I can truly recognize a semblance of happiness.
What it is like to wade through life alone
without the yearning for spectacular conjectures
to refute any particular notions of my waning smiles.
Just born, but barely worn down
and I still have miles to give
and seasons to learn.
Morning, I wake
I wanna sleep all day in the wake of you
In the wake of your, breath
Breathing in and out, so steadily
So steadily and silently, I stare,
Staring at this one brief moment that we share
Until the light of day casts a beam
And casts away our cares
And no longer will I be next to you
Belonging to the sun
No, not the moon
Awating the moment when you'll say
I'll see you soon
I'll see you soon.

Everyone knows that she's not like others
She's an outcast in this cold broken place
Suppressing her true self til' it smothers
As she walks around here and hides her face

She wants to fit in, be able to gleam
And be a part of every single crowd
But she can't, she holds it in til' she screams
And above her head there's always a shroud

Sadly, she walks through the halls, her head down
Others watching her with a sinful sneer
She turns away and wishes she could drown
All that stops her from coming out is fear

What would they do if she held her head high
She'll never know, she just lets them pass by
Dedicated to all those who feel so alone due to the cruelty of others.  Especially in high school.

It was sweet
light
and fast.
However, the feeling will always last.
It sent bolts of lightening down my spine,
And sparks of electricity through my soul.
A gust of wind across my mind,
And a bond that seemed indestructible.
That feeling of perfection.
That feeling of protection
Making my head spin in all directions.
How could such complexity come from such a light touch?

It seemed so safe
So innocent
So lovely
However, it meant so much more.
For this light connection opened doors.
This little joke, a small playful score.
How did it turn to something so magical?

It was light as a feather
Soft as a cloud
Sweet as candy
And addictive like a drug
This small connection could only be a kiss
A true kiss;
That wakes a princess from her sleep,
Turns a toad into a prince.

A kiss that happens in dreams
In fairy tales
And fantasies
However, it was real.
It was my first real fairy tale kiss.
