The noise goes out.
And the silence creeps in.
One more night with the realization
That I am still alone.
Forever?
Who’s to say?
For now.
That’s for sure.
The friends all leave.
But your memories stay.
So vivid they’re haunting.
The nights in the rain.
The days spent in bed.
Without you here I’m a ghost of our past.
When did you go?
Why did you go?
Some questions with no answers.
Was it because you needed to?
Or was it because you needed an escape from me?
These questions pour in.
And make the silence so loud.
I’m done searching for answers in my nightmares.
It’s your turn for that now.

I shall keep you close to my heart
And smother you with my art

The change in my pocket isn't enough to bring about change
It's strange that accepting this doesn't make me feel strange

The twenty pack I casually smoke away
Keeps me from worrying how much I make in a day

As I read thoroughly every article in the paper about you
It makes me wonder, am I really glad that we're through?

I fear leaving the confines of my thoroughly sanitised bubble
For I know that when I enter again, so shall rubble

Poised atop the rubble out there stands a figure, bruised and weary
Her eyes glisten not with lust but with passion; her thoughts, priceless; but her looks, dreary

As always I shall try and end on a high
As per the Wright brothers, if you obsess enough, one day you WILL fly.

Concrete full of blood
Skies, smoke-filled clouds

Poison, don't you see
INDUCING VOMITING
Of every freedom you hold

Incubators, landfills
For
Food deserts
Soul Scavengers
Bullet and knife showers
Parentless parents
Starving children
Hotbeds for addiction

Metropolises
Harvesting humans like ants
Where democracy manufactures
Oppressed consumers out of the masses
Majority starving for death

Poison, don't you see
INDUCING VOMITING
Of every freedom you hold

Those borders you revere
Hijacking your body and mind
Legislating no burning of the flag
Where they clean their blood-drenched hands on
Can you tell what side your on
When you agree, they hold a different nationality

When can there be actual solidarity?
Profets of freedom, alienating OUR power to be
When in doctrine, legislature, and policy
Hierarchizing who deserves to be free

In contempt, not compliance
In pain, not numb
Reactive, not inactive
Burning, boiling, shivering
Out of injustice

Poison, don't you see
INDUCING VOMITING
Of every freedom you hold

How can you keep suffering,
When you face the truth

Rain kisses the pavement
Cigarette burnt fingertips
Your warmth is god sent
I taste the salt on your lips

Black umbrellas line the streets
Clam chowder and baguette air
Like a child tucked beneath crisp sheets
Adoration the only stitch I wear

Pacific Ocean’s salt
Rain soaked cheeks
Coy, loving, exalted
We could’ve survived like this for weeks

Paint me a picture with ink of gold
Sculpt me a statue of my e m p t y mold

Weave me a dress with your fingertips
Show me your world through sunken lips

Can’t you see? You’re an artist
Unable to clutch a brush with a fist

Release your rage on a white frame
& Tell me that I’m all to blame

Sip up my fragile strength- spit it like fire
Continue to be my hearts latest desire

Our politicians preach hope
While our nation struggles to cope
Stacking woman into binders
Deaf to all but hired reminders
Treaties & agreements for peace
While riots rage on in Greece
Told that we are doing just fine
As more join the food stamp line
American banks engorged with greed
Planting in free soil a debt ridden seed
The next Great Depression has already begun
& It matters not which candidate has won
With our cancer ridden healthcare
Attempts like duc-tape to repair
Voting to raise the debt ceiling
An American father kneeling
Praying to God to find a job
While outside “we the people” form a mob
The 99% chanting in the streets
Stubborn legislatures don’t budge from seats
C-span listens to recipes from cookbooks
A dull murmur of televised crooks
Unemployment continues to rise
Prophets sure of the world’s demise
