Tomorrow
Barry Hill Oct 2012
The connection I seek seems to be in vain
I shout to myself so no one can hear
the trivial trouble and the mindless complaint...

Why am I not perfect?
Though, it soon disappears

The riveting road of desperation
keeps my mind in escalation
watching the seemingly happy faces walk by
I look inside as I begin to sigh

We can't enjoy the life we have
if all we do is compare
We can't begin to better ourselves
if we don't delete our despair

Enjoy who you are
and don't look back too far
but be better than who you were yesterday.
10 minute poem? Probably not that great.

Living Again
Barry Hill Apr 2011
If I were to create a new story
I would start over
I would go back in time
And fix my regrets
All the lies
All the mistakes
If I were to create
I would loose myself
The chaos and disorder
That created who I am
Maybe I'll never understand
That we're all just part of a plan
But that would take away
From the universe's mysteries
The ones that we all seek
The ones that we all hope to find
But will never achieve

Create Me Again
Barry Hill Jul 2010
The pit is never lasting
for it does not exist
the darkness doesn't close
the inhabitants do persist
cold and dreary climate
forced down their throats
thrown up to the top
to taste the tickle
that they think will
topple over like the
thickness of their coats
to keep out of the cold
won't stop now the walls do close
bodies piled down
don't mind the wind blow
chilled to their bones
a rock in the sand
a stain in the stones
perched at the top of a mountain
two tablets crossed and died
to meet the expectations
of a God who cried
to pour on his constituents
for not repeating
the pattern laid down in His eyes; crossed
a path that we must follow but now are lost
guidance in a book that was written by men
pardon me for asking or contemplating then
the meaning of our existence
did he create us or us create him
If you are real please

The Past is No Illusion
Barry Hill Jul 2010
I have come to the conclusion
The past is no illusion
nor the future a distraction
from the times we contract in
the faction of us has created a lust
so great i tried to contain but i must
so softly you cried with tears of hope
created an ocean fearless i cope
for our losses, that we may never have them
for the cross of what you call a chasm
across the ******* cave we crave
a new journey together we save
ourselves down the road forever

Years go bye.
Barry Hill Apr 2010
The august heat
flows through her veins
his love and deceit
wash away with rain
The passion is lit
the wax gets colder
but not the wick
her weeps get bolder
It is meant to be bye, instead of by.
