AVSANTHOSH KUMAR May 2018
It was raining all  through the night.
Her face pale in the lightning,
Trying  to conceal in my chest.
Rain battered on the window pane
With all its might to wake us up.
Embracing  her close to my chest
Lips on the eyes, through the cheeks.
It rained over there too.

I remember another rainy night,
I was away, far far away,
Alone and lonely in the gloomy night
In a land beyond the seven seas.
Saw the trees embracing each other
So as to save each other from falling.
My fingers crawled through the bed,
searching solace but in vain.

I got up suddenly and rang her up
Heard her voice  trembling through.
We were in a plain, lush and green
Where the trees hug in every wind.
Lightning and thunder on and on
We saw the roofs are no more on
The sky, the clouds are moving on.
She said, it rained over there too.

Resounding roar of the sea
Beating one to one
As if to defeat
The wail of the shore

Where the sea conceals the tides
And teach to remain dumb and still?

Cars, smashing the snow walls
Racing like galloping turtle-
A simile like this possible?

The tides’ roar, the sea hid
Ceaseless in the turtle’s belly.

A descending on parole
From the prison of misery
To the tragedy of creativity

Make a sausage out of me.
she screamed.

The color? I asked.
Yes. With all my colors.

Your nails pink
Hair gold
Eyes blue.

Skin?
Peel it.
She yelled.
It's torn
Tarnished.
Peel it
and make a sausage
In red.
She screamed.
