The term 'stranger' could potentially mean two different things.
It could mean someone I used to be close to, now just another person you see on twitter or facebook every now and then.

Or it could be the fairy tale stranger.
The mysterious one you see in public, the one you want to talk to, but you're too shy to say a measly hi to.
That nice looking girl or enticing boy you see walking in the opposite direction as you.

What would happen if that person you have never seen in your life, talked to you?

Dear stranger,

If you were to see me, walking through the mall or down the road, and you caught my eye, What would pass through your mind? If you caught my eye, I will almost definitely find something about you that will draw me to you, even though you won't hear me say a word.
I will find something about you, take a split second to analyze what I just saw and quite possibly think about it, maybe for the rest of my day.
Say you're a boy.
If I were to see you and be completely enticed by you, I might hope to see you again that day so I could pluck up the courage to smile at you this time around. What if my smile made you stop and say hi? What if we spent the rest of the day talking, not remembering what we were doing before the time we met.
What if we exchanged phone numbers and stayed in touch? We could turn out to be really good friends, hanging out, talking, laughing.
What if, we kept a friendship for year, or even longer.
What if one night when we stayed up together talking about the things we already knew about each other, talking about our deepest secrets or desires.
What if on that night we fell in love?
What if we realized the other was everything we needed and more.
But what if we did fall in love? What if both of us ended up heartbroken?
What if we never fell in love?
What if we were the best of friends, and we grew up together, protecting each other until we found people who would take care of us for the remainder of our lives?
But what if, we never stopped and said hi? Never knowing what could possibly happen.
Maybe you said hi and we talked for a few weeks. You still would've made an impact on my life.
I think about every person who has every made me second guess myself, and you could be one of those people who cross my mind years later of not talking.
I could feel like you possibly hated me and still think about the times we talked and laugh and I could quite possibly miss them.

So, Dear Stranger.
I encourage you, talk to me. Because, we may have nothing to lose, or something to gain.
