Austin Mosher Aug 2013
I gaze at the big city lights
Dreaming they'll give me sight
They wont help,
They wont help.
I keep hearing time whispering
And dead silence screaming
Out my name,
Out my name.
Walls crumble to the sea,
Foundation made of leaves
Wind takes them,
Wind takes them.
Can you hear the pavement cry
That it cannot touch the sky?
Dry her tears,
Dry her tears.
Austin Mosher Aug 2013
My eyes are cannibals
Let them devour you

My arms are skyscrapers
Let them lift you to the moon

My heart lies here naked
Just waiting for the fall.
Austin Mosher Aug 2013
The water's words gush out of
Both my ears
And on to the icey floor.
What's behind
Your leaky eye's shallow disguise?
Were you ever
Awake when your eyes were closed?
My ear is
Frozen to the floor waiting for
Your whispers.
Condensation drips off of
Empty vases
Clinched in the viper's closed fist.
The cycle,
Constant and never ending
Will repeat
Until the cataracts fall
From your eyes.

Happy
Birthday
To
Me!

Mountains fall, due to
Compromised integrity
Of a single stone
Austin Mosher Aug 2013
There are microphones
In a vast sea of speakers
Searching for their voice.

Can you hear the
Cast bronze fireplace's
Flames melting iron snowmen?

Can you see the obelisk
Sitting in it's vacant lot?

The stone cold singe-marks
Sear varicose veins
Of wooden lamp posts.

Whiskey filled sippy cups
Preordain the raven's tears:
                               (Bullets)
I hear Nerudan love poems
Broadcasted through blue PA speakers
To no one
(But me)

Songs resonate through hollow walls:
                      Songs read from empty
                      Sheet music
                      From the fall of
                      1964.
