Instead of thoughts I have a chorus
of voices singing my reactions
& inner monologues
One set of voices devoted to
whatever pop tune I've wedged
between my fancy & fears
those they sing with glee
Another set play my greek chorus
chiming in croaking out
danger & longing because I need song
to be able to process my life
I need voice to enunciate & emote
need drums & bass to feel anything at all
& need melody to
shake loose my soul
i thought that;
after a year
i wouldn't miss him anymore,
that i wouldn't hate him as much.
but he's still stuck in my love
and fueling my hate.

The spider, dropping down from twig,
Unfolds a plan of her devising,
A thin premeditated rig
To use in rising.

And all that journey down through space,
In cool descent and loyal hearted,
She spins a ladder to the place
From where she started.

Thus I, gone forth as spiders do
In spider's web a truth discerning,
Attach one silken thread to you
For my returning.
The dull
red clouds
at evening
that caught
my consciousness
and held it
made me think
I would give
one leg
to be able
to see
all this
one day after
I was dead
It struck me tonight that I would give anything to see this sunset.

I stumbled into a graveyard
And found written upon a stone
"In this place lies the human race,
Who died greedy and all alone"

It was dated Two-thousand and thirty-five
The year that man had died
The tomb was split just a little bit
So I decided to look inside

I saw what will be our future
Or maybe I should say our end
Covered in soil were barrels of oil
And money, too much to spend

I saw miles of nuclear weapons
As far as the eye could see
A place so sublime it was frozen in time
For all of eternity

Bodies lined the inner chamber
A warning to one and all
The price of greed means death indeed
The writing is on the wall

I stumbled into a graveyard
And found written upon a stone
"In this place lies the human race,
Who died greedy and all alone"
