Bitter Truth
Ariel Gean Sep 2016
I want to share my thoughts
But how do you do that
When everything you think
Is
Just
A
Big
Fat
Depressing
Mess?
I have been wanting to get back on here for a while, but I couldn't think of anything happy to post.
Ariel Gean May 2014
The past is history
So forget all the things you've said and done
It's over now
It doesn't matter
You've been forgiven
So move on
Don't dwell on silly, little things
That have been long forgotten
Just smile at the memories you've made
They'll always be there for you

The future is a mystery, they say
That's how it's supposed to be at least
Don't fret over things
That have yet to happen
They're not a guarantee
Things can change
So in the meantime
Dream
Dream to your hearts content
Smile as you dream about all of life's possibilities

But today is a gift
That is why it's called the present
It's one that shouldn't be wasted
You're in charge on how you live
Your one and only life
So don't have any regrets
Go have fun
Make mistakes
Have good friends
Life is a ride, so enjoy it
I was watching "Kung Fu Panda" and I really just wanted to write a poem over that little quote the turtle dude said. And I did.

For My Little Sister <3
Ariel Gean Mar 2014
Though the world may not always be like it seems; don't lose hope.
Though people will come in and out of your life; give everyone a chance.
Though society is going to tell you many things; make your own opinions.
Though you'll go through ups and downs; keep your head held high.
Though puberty gives you awkward stages; you will always be beautiful.
Though we may fight more than we like; I will always be your sister. <3
This is a working progress kind of thing. It's obviously for my sister, but I may go back and rewrite a few things or add something.

If Death was a Feeling. . .
Ariel Gean Jan 2014
Death creeps upon me
I can feel Him breathing down my neck
My energy is slowing draining
He holds onto me, not allowing me to be free
The more time passes, the more I look like a wreck
Oh, how He is so restraining

But I refuse to give into Him
I refuse to give in, I will rise up and move on
Feeling sickly for him is just an attraction
His poison is filled all the way up to the brim
But I throw it out, and make my way out yon
Simply because I refuse to give Death satisfaction
I was feeling sick a while back and I wrote this. Everyone would ask me how I was feeling and I continually replied "Like death". A friend of mine pointed out that could be an interesting poem, so I attempted to write one.

Writer's Block.
Ariel Gean Dec 2013
I stare at this blank page
Not knowing what I should type
One. Little. Poem.
My mind demands
Something fun
Something serious
Something crazy
Something no one else will get
Just something
But I continue just sitting here
Wondering what thoughts
I should put into words
I get mad because I can't
Because I have stupid writer's block
Needlessly to say, I had a major case of Writer's Block when I wrote this.

Curiosity.
Ariel Gean Dec 2013
I was just curious
As  to what it was like
To be aligned on this side
Of the computer screen.
I just wanted to write a silly little poem because I think a lot of the stuff I write can be depressing at times.
Ariel Gean Dec 2013
Through her eyes
  She's not perfect.
But through his
  She's indescribable.

Inside her mind
  She's a mess.
But inside of his
  She's an angel.

Her heart whispers
  She's ugly.
But his just says
  She's beautiful.
This sounds bad, but this was actually inspired by a status I saw on Facebook. It was a sweet little status to this guy wrote for his girlfriend and I decided to change it up a bit. But I actually really like this one.

Remember
Ariel Gean Dec 2013
What happened to love we had?
Forever and always, remember?
Though the thick and the thin–
Through the ups and the downs–
That was your promise to me.
The one you said you'd never break.
Do you remember?

The moments that we shared–
All were so precious to me.
To you did they mean anything?
Did you ever care at all?
The memories that we made–
They seem so fragile now.
But honestly...
Do you remember me?
This was based off of a bad break up between two close friends of mine. One of them still had feelings for the other after the break up though.

The Story of a Girl.
Ariel Gean Nov 2013
Let me tell you a story
Of a girl not many people knew.
Come, sit down, and listen.
I wouldn't want you to miss this.
Once upon a time,
Because that's how all great stories go,
There was a girl.
Just like you and just like me.
She wasn't a glimmering jewel,
But more like a diamond in the rough.
She was quite and didn't dare to speak a word.
All she ever seem to do was hide
Behind her dark curtain of hair
Where no one else could see her.
No one ever really understood her,
But no one ever got to know her
She was more than just that though.
Not that anyone would ever know
Because then came along the whispers.
Everywhere she walked she could hear them.
She did her best to block them out.
Though, that didn't always work.
After the whispers came the insults.
They were thrown around on a daily basis.
Sometimes they left her speechless.
Sometimes they made her sad.
Sometimes she didn't know
What they made her feel.
She tried, tried, and tried to change herself,
But that just made her tired.
She decided just to put up a wall.
Years after the whispers first started,
She felt herself growing weary.
Tired of trying, and tired of crying.
It seemed like she didn't have the answers to anything.
Her parents started noticing her behavior,
But they didn't know what to do.
How could they know what everyday was like?
Then came the next dreadful day,
The insults, whispers, and stares included
Were harsher compared to the days before.
She walked home alone in the rain that day.
Her cheeks were stained with her tears,
But the tears never did stop ending.
When she got home, she was welcomed with silence
No one was there for her to talk to.
No one was ever there for her to talk to.
She went to her room and made sure the door was locked.
Her decision was made, she was ready to go.
It only took a minute to meet her sweet, dark abyss.
The day after no whispers were found.
Silence was everywhere that day
In the halls, the classroom, and the buses.
Every student was filled with guilt,
Especially when looking at her heart-broken parents.
They didn't think she would go this far.
Moral of the story, since there always is one,
Be kind to all those who you are surrounded by
Because you'll never know who the whispers will go after next.
For all you know it could be you.
And you too will be gone before your time.
This is dedicated to all the people who fell down and couldn't get back up when they had no hope left in them. R.I.P. ♡

The Circle of Depression
Ariel Gean Nov 2013
Smile, Smile, Smile
Even though you know you're in denial

Hide, Hide, Hide
So your feelings can start to subside

Cry, Cry, Cry
As people just continue to walk by

Cut, Cut, Cut
And get looked down on as if you're ****

Die, Die, Die
Then people will start wondering why
I'm not really sure what inspired me to write this one, but after I was done writing it, I couldn't believe how true (for me) this was.

Pain
Ariel Gean Nov 2013
Pain is something you cannot see
It eats away inside of me
At times it feels like something I can't bear
And it comes from people not seeming to care
Pain hurts I'm not going to lie
The pain I have makes me want to die
You tell me to drop the blade and start over again
But the pain I feel will never end
This was the first poem I ever wrote. I was 13 which may seem silly, but I was going through a hard time. Personally, I am rather proud of how it turned out.
