My heart is stretched,
Pulled and pulled,
It cannot take any more.

The smallest tug,
You or I,
And it will snap.

But to let go,
Is to admit,
That I was wrong.

I will hold on,
Forever,
You are worth suffering for.

Remorse

Lonely moments,
wait in ambush,
Armed with hindsight,
regret attacks.

Elusive dreams,
Dance in sight,
Out of reach,
Try anyway.

Her leaving heat wakes my shattered mind,
And torn tendrils of ***-stained dreams
Slip and slide away, noodling into;
Incomprehension, anger, hurt,
Coffee steam stays the pain,
Relief and hope mix in an
Exhuming brew.

Glaring emptiness fills with shades, all screaming silent,
I don't know why their frantic, torn-down pride sings relief,
That all hopes and dreams, fulfilled or not, will be as dust,
Nothing remains, this too is our fate, we are dying slowly,
Yet the joy is in being forgotten, that this too shall pass,
We need not fear, for life lives truly, on the edge of oblivion.

Love, her?

Her beauty is like a condemned man's last smoke,
A burning gasp of life,
To have her, to lose her,
Each poignant moment must be stolen,
And swiftly savored,
Caging kisses,
And
Adding to the queasy stomach graveyard,
For butterflies of hope,
She's in love with loss,
Not I,
Yet I  can not let her go.

Midnight raindrops pitter,
Lullaby-like and gently,
Softly, sweet sounds sing,

Sleep's greeting is waiting,
On deeds done in darkness,
Somnolent certainties,

It is brighter, awake at night,
Because all flaws are hidden,
And only silhouettes remain,

Each together, touch alone,
Falling in abysmal, foolish love,
Tonight is for you and I,

Darkness's peak has passed,
But my lights stay on,
What dream could better this?

Clarity

Clarity of thought comes seldom,
A test, a race, a girl,
Focusing my murky mind into
Clear, winter air,
Moments stretch and bend,
Important unseen things
No longer neglected,
The world seems very beautiful,
And I finally laugh,
At the joke
Of life.

Oh, Woman.

Leeching light, vampire-like, her eyes burn,
Stolen attention lingers, cloyingly sweet,
Pearly laughs cling, bedeviling,
Shaking hips, like a disapproving finger,
Rising tides hold secrets close, unveiling,
A smirking smile, sweet as the taste of death,
Oh, angel lips, fallen to hell's debauchery,
Legs like an ignored muse, passion banked,
Hair's flick-kiss, black-heart dark,
Spicy scent, alcohol-like, inebriating,
Breathing deep the essence of the bonfire rose,
Ghost dance footprints fade and fulfill,
Everest's peak, an unscalable life-long goal,
Her free, stained-glass heart, my hopeless hope.
