We talked, once
I asked a mundane question
Hoping for more than an answer
But no,
You replied and turned away

Our eyes met, once
I smiled and blushed
Wishing for more than that glance
But no,
You blinked and turned away

We touched, once
Our arms brushed on our ways past
I whispered an apology
Pleading for you more than ever before
But no,
You didn't even look

Now there isn't anything much
We aren't even aware anymore
I still wish, hope, and plead
But no,
You won't even know I'm here

There is one goal for us
One challenge that brings so much
To live. No,
To live
There is but one way to truly feel
That is to live, of course
For without life, there is no love
No hate
No emotions upon which we depend
Would you rather survive?
Chew upon the mundane and unexciting?
That, my dear friend, is not living
Yes,
To live thrusts risk onto oneself
The risk of heartbreak and betrayal and devastation
But, without the dark there would be no light
To live is to be,
And to be,
Is the answer
Inspired by William Shakespeares' Hamlet

Separated
Alone in the dark
Hope?
A dying flame
Sanity and reality
Falling apart
Nightmares
Wild, untame
I'm just a player
In life's sick game

Breaking
Sinking
Finally floating
Floating with the pain
Swimming through fear
Drinking in tears
Consumed with notions
Of impossible possibilities
Never to be imagined again

The darkness is the key
To doors of insanity
Light?
The broken lock
